^ Thanks

i am officially obsessed with michael phelps. over the past 32 hours, i've read over 4 hours of fan stuff about him!

I really want US to do well.... but more so I don't want China to come out on top.

Did anyone else find the "A Day in the Life of Michael Phelps" clip to be amusing. Like the snoring, the clips of him eating all of that food, and the list of the foods that he consumes in a typical breakfast.

^ HAHAH me too anonperson1. I have succumbed to all this Phelps hoopla- I can't help it, that guy is just too freakin' cute and sweet. It's like someone took a little kid's goofy head and placed it on a graceful, mature body. Like, he's not even conventionally good-looking (he has ears that stick out, his face is kinda long and droopy, he talks funny, etc.) but his genuine mannerisms and awkwardness make him so adorable! When he was cheering Lezak on, I was nearly in tears from laughing so hard because he looked so happy afterward and whooping like a kid, haha! He seems like an extremely determined guy with a heart of gold.

Gymnastics is also freakin' crazy. The Chinese and Japanese have such great gymnasts, it's not even funny.

^ about michael phelps, very true

Best relay in History! Go USA!

I've heard there's some proof that some of their gymnasts are under-age.

i love michael phelps :)

Doubts over Chinese duo's Olympic eligibility - CNN.com

BEIJING, China (AP) -- Two female Chinese gymnasts, including a gold-medal favorite, might be too young to participate in the upcoming Beijing Olympics.

He Kexin's eligibility for the Beijing Olympics is in doubt due to confusion over her age.

Several online records and reports show that He Kexin, the host nation's top competitor on uneven bars, and Jiang Yuyuan might not yet be 16, the minimum age for Olympic eligibility. Both were chosen for China's team last week.

On the Web site of the Chengdu Sports Bureau -- Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province in southwest China -- a file dated January 2006 shows He Kexin as being born January 1, 1994.

Most recently, a May 23 story in the China Daily newspaper, the official English-language paper of the Chinese government, had her age as 14.

The newspaper story begins: "The 14-year old newcomer to the national team, who was recruited last year, has raised a lot of eyebrows recently after she broke two world records on the uneven bars in as many months."

The New York Times raised questions about the athletes' ages in a story on Saturday. Chinese officials provided the newspaper with copies of passports indicating both gymnasts are 16.

But in a speech on November 3, 2007, in the central city of Wuhan, Liu Peng, director of general administration of sport for China, said: "The 13-year-old uneven-bar gymnast He Kexin, who defeated national team athlete Yang Yilin -- she just won the bronze medal in the world championships -- has demonstrated her ability."

Phelps is awesome.

Haha. Everyone in my family is cheering for him. =]

And another gold!

God he's so beastly. He hasn't really showed any signs of exhaustion yet.
On another note, what's up with all of these attractive female swimmers?

Did any one see Togo win their first medal ever, in kayaking? It was awsome

^Also Tajikistan in Judo or something! I'm so proud of them. They must be their country's hero!

^Uzbekistan also did well in judo, but Central Asia is quite good at martial arts in general. No real surprise.

Canada doesn't have any medals yet! I'm kind of mad. But I was glad India got its first gold since 1980.

The only events I really support the U.S. in are women's all-around gymnastics and basketball.

I was also glad that Kirsty Coventry is doing really well. Zimbabwe needs something to cheer for.

MICHAEL PHELPS: NEW WORLD RECORD AND 10 CAREER GOLD MEDALS!!

Expected, but impressive nonetheless. He's a freaking beast.

Time to cheer on Shawn Johnson.

Ten, not nine, career gold medals. Nine would only be a five-way tie.

he has another race in 10 minutes! i hope he does it...

So I just started watching the Games yesterday. And I'm addicted. I <3 competition and watching people do amazing things...

This relay is frickin' AMAZING... nine seconds ahead of the world record?!

edit: finished five seconds ahead. Wowowow.

^ yeah, that was INSANE...i don't think people realize that most of these records are determined by...oh... MAYBE .03 of a second?!?!
