That swimming relay was absurd. The green line marking the previous record was off the screen at some points!

I felt so bad for Alicia Sacramone. Falling off the balance beam and then falling on the floor section? She must be crushed. (But Shawn Johnson was amazing. Did anyone else see her balance beam performance?)

I did get kind of a Berlin '36 kinda vibe from the last Chinese floor routine. With a song composed specifically for her? I don't know: it just worried me.

And what can you expect from Chinese gymnasts? The government literally scouts out girls at age 3 and puts them through elite training. The Americans started at what, age 10?

I think the reasons for all the new olympic records in swimming are because of the new facility that allows smoother water wave and the new swim suit.

I saw Shawn Johnson, she was very good.
I personally the judges have been biased towards the chinese especially for diving and Gymnastics.
I 2nd the opinion that the Chinese gymnasts look underage.

I also think the Chinese gymnasts are underage. Oe of the girls was missing a front tooth. Sixteen year olds are not still loseing teeth. I love watching gymnastics and swiming has been amazing this year.

all female gymnasts look like and sound like pre-pubescent girls. they all have 12 year old bodies and speak in high pitched nasty voices. they're all under 5'4''

Our gymnasts are also short, McskittlZ10: Shawn Johnson is 16 (really!) and she's only 4'9". Alicia Sacramone is 20 and she's only 5'1". All Olympic gymnasts are short. It's just that the Chinese Olympians happen to look younger than 16 (even for Asians, who very often appear younger than they are) in ways other than height.

Why is Michael Phelps such a beast? I mean think about it: it would be anybody's lifelong dream of winning a gold medal in the Olympics. People are expecting him to win 8. 8!!!!!!

Lets go Redeem Team! Up next, Greece, then Spain. Gonna be hard. But USA basketball has some of the best athletes in the world.

lol seems like everyone's obsessed w/michael phelps now...

i LOOOOOVE him!

anyway...i'm ruling for china. duh. but when china's not there, i'm cheering for USA. and that swim relay....wow...just knocked me outta my chair at one point. it was amazing!

and the opening...i fing love it. period. then i went on YT to watch the 2004 Athen's opening ceremony. no offence but i almost fell asleep durin the middle of the first quarter of it. it just lacked that "WOW" or "holy S" factor that bejing had.
