Being in the top ten percent?

I've done oodles of research about the numbers needed to be considered at the UCs. It's a little frightening, but almost all of their admitees come from the top ten percent of their class. IE Irvine (96% of admits are in top 10th). I am in the top 13% percent of my graduating class. Am I shunned from this school? All of my other numbers fit their profile (sort of)--UC GPA 3.7, SAT 1900, extracurriculars and so on... so do i even have a chance because of my rank?

Some schools have 5000 students. Some have 80.

okay…Im 78 out of 599…

I think that’s good enough. I feel rank means less and less at schools with large enrollment because different students will start taking different classes. And then the better way to differentiate students will be SAT.

Also figure this, my school didn’t even rank. So how does that figure in their calculation? Long story short… I have no idea, I just like talking/discussing.

some students currently attending UCI are from high schools that does not rank. You shouldn’t necessarily judge your chances based on the ranks.

alright thanks guys!
