In my wait list mail from Peddie, they says that:"Peddie does not rank its Wait List and will reevaluate each candidate as Peddie determines its student body composition."

Is that true ?

I have just asked my robotics teacher to write a recommendation letter, my robotics captain (soccer teammate also) to write a peer recommendation too. Are those helpful ? What else should I send ? Is getting on high honor roll helpful ?

Please look at this positively: Do you have viable acceptances ? If so, you may want to concentrate on your future elsewhere because my understanding is that you may need a 9th grade male boarder (if that is what you are) and soccer player to give up a spot in order to keep the same distribution overall.

Not sure other than let them know of your continuing interest. Congratulations on your private school acceptance in the city! Your parents may be very happy to have you living at home for now,,,

My son is waitlisted at andover and accepted by other schools.
In the letter from andover, it said "The admission office asks that you send a final transcript at the end of the school year to keep your file up to date. Additionally, it is alwasy helpful to receive new information from waiting list candidates about honors, awards, or other new and interesting experiences.".
So, we will send letters to let them know my son just made into high school varsity golf team (the only freshman make it) and all-state orchestra. He also got all A at all honors.
I think it's good idea to update your information.

DON'T GIVE UP!

** PS: have you think about rolling admission to Blair ?

nns91, from what I have read on how to handle a waitlist situation is to write a letter to the Admissions Office and restate your reasons for wanting to attend the school, mention any recent accomplishments or pertinent new information about which the school may not be aware and emphasize that you will attend if offered admission from the waiting list.

I've read it is better to write a letter, rather than call and lobby on your own behalf. Also, while still staying on the waitlist(s), look at the other choices available to you and plan out other options.

just say "i love your school an dwas wondering if there was any other other information u needed for my file? perhaps additional recomandations? Oh btw, is this true... im still really interested in school ur school an dwill hopefully become part of the --- class."

I think I'm gonna sound kind of dumb saying this... but nns are you just asking your teacher to write a letter? Or is there a form you are going to give him to fill out? Because the recs I had to send in January came in forms, you're not just going to give him another form, right? What are you going to ask him to do?
