Same here. I am still waiting for the result. And I am so nervous!!! Please bring us good luck.

Jieyings, when did you send yours? Where are you accepted? I was rejected by UCLA and noticed some of the others here who didnt make it through appeals were accepted to UCLA.

Congratulations, phmiracle and GSG900!!! So glad to hear that they did indeed accept people from our thread!

Tomorrow is going to be a big day for those of us still waiting, take time to reflect on your accomplishments (and possibly prepare for the last of your finals) while you wait.

@bluetea, here are some of my stats, reposted from another thread.

Decision (including term): Accepted, Fall 2012.

Major GPA: 4.0
Major Pre-reqs: 4/5, Statistics not offered.
IGETC: Yes.

Extracurriculars:
Job/Work Experience: Real-estate internships, City internships, etc.
Volunteer/Community service: Work at homeless shelter, leadership roles in church activities, assorted HS volunteer work.

For my appeal letter, I included 3 teacher recommendations, 1 workplace recommendation, and 1 counselor recommendation. My appeal was based on grounds of personal hardship (I don’t want to share here), but it basically explained to UCB why my family would need me to stay in the Bay Area.

Appeal = denied
good luck everyone!

@bluetea
Just checked the result. I got in for appeal. I am an international student at Rutgers. I applied for Economics and Geography.

GSG900
Did you get in UCLA? I got in UCLA and I have already submit my SIR. Do you know how to decline that SIR?

I assume you have to call UCLA between 1-4 this afternoon.

I talked to someone at their web service, and they said it would be okay to go SIR to UCB after SIR to UCLA (which I did). But they recommended me to “take care of it as soon as possible”.

Congrats jie!

I am in China right now, which means I have to wait until 4am to give them a call or if I can get up at 6am.
Congrats you too.
And Thanks for your advice.

accepted for spring 2013. checked this morning at 8 am. uhh

Oh my God! I got in for Spring. This has been my dream since I was 15. I’m 44 and lived through a lot to get here. Don’t give up on your dreams.

GSG900. Your stats are incredible. I can’t believe you didn’t get in through regular admissions. My GPA is only 3.74, but I included samples of my poetry and painting, which I think is what got me in. I also had a hella life getting to this point, but I didn’t focus on hardship in appeal, so thought I didn’t have a chance.

@peipeigloria: Thank you for uploading the pic :)

Congratulations to everyone who got in. It’s a huge accomplishment!!

I’m really concerned about my appeal. I still have not been given confirmation of Berkeley receiving it. I postmarked it the day of the 15th. I’m applying to the College of Engineering, so maybe each college has a different process? I’m going to look for a Cal phone number I can call. If anyone could provide me with one, that’d be great :]

Congrats you guys!!! Those going to UCLA PM me. We can get a mixer going lol

Phonon14: I spoke to Berkeley admissions and they told me they were still reviewing appeals from those who didn’t make the deadline. Maybe they didn’t receive it in time, but they will let those folks know sometime after today- maybe next two weeks. I didnt write down the #, but looked up UC Berkeley Admissions, then link “contacts” and you will see the number. It’s a long wait, but they are helpful. Good luck. I’m deferred til Spring. Hope that isn’t a silly choice on my part. Waiting another semester seems imprudent, but what the hell. I can get a couple more classes in to make sure I get out in 4 semesters. I have heard that they absolutely do not allow transfer students to stay extra semesters unless there are extraordinary circumstances. Good luck everyone!

I havent spoken up on the thread yet (i shunned college confidential out of despair after my rejection lol)…but out of curiousity…is anyone else waiting on a response to their appeal?
