Yes, this applies to TRANSFERS who have completed their IGETC/GE. I actually spoke to a Political Science adviser the other day so that I could figure out what classes I need to take and she specifically stated that I needed to take an AC course as part of the graduation requirement.

I spoke to a counselor yesterday about the American Cultures requirement.

Everyone needs to take it and it is easy to fulfill.
I would need 9 upper division courses in Anthropology (my major) to graduate, I would also need 6 courses of upper division in something other than my major.

“The AC requirement can be fulfilled “off-campus” through transfer units from a Community College or other institution. (Pre-approved AC courses for Community Colleges can be found on www.assist.org.)”

absurdmike-from what the counselor told me they want your High School transcripts b/c they fulfill the government and history requirement they want.

Janethedoe- I was invited to EOP as well. Could you recommed a counselor to me? BTW, what kind of opportunities do they provide you? I know they offer tons of resources but do you get anything special for establishing yourself as an EOP student? i.e. backpacks, notebooks etc. The reason I ask is that my last school did provide these things for students.

Are you guys just looking in the Berkeley course catalog to see what courses you want to take for fall semester? I already know what courses I want to take I just wanted to make sure there is a teacher teaching it that semester. BTW Janethedoe…are you planning on doublemajoring?

they don’t provide services like that for their students at Berkeley. EOP in CCC is completely different. The counselor told me they do offer special services but mainly they offer counseling for your courses and stuff. EOP students at Berkeley do not get priority registration…but they do get emergency grants…if you qualify.
and they offer %50 off GRE prep courses offered by Princeton Review and Kaplan.
idk about double majoring…lol

As you can tell, I’m from Foothill. And I’m here to give you the inside scoop!

At Foothill, if a class is filled, the person first on the waitlist does NOT get automatically bumped into the class. So if you really want to be in the class, just watch the class availability and add the class in the case someone drops. Also, it is smart to contact the teacher beforehand to show you care! :)

Ugh, ■■■. Do I really need to take a class about photography of African Americans during the summer?

How much effort would one need to put in this class to get an “A.” I am thinking of taking multivariable/accounting classes over the summer as well.
