Berkeley Applicants and annoying FAQs

Annoying and Frequently Asked Questions.. (different from the thread Sakura started cause his has useful information). I'm just goin to answer 2 repetitive questions.

Regarding TAP, ITS TOO LATE FOR 08. its rhymes, say it with me ITS TOO LATE FOR 08.

AND

Berkeley (at least in the Letters and Science) DOESNT ACCEPT PEOPLE BY MAJOR. You usually apply to the department your major is located. Its too complicated so just know that its not by major.

And, for most majors, Berkeley doesn't have any websites easily available to the public (as i've searched in the past) that tells people the specific statistics of accepted applicants by major. Thats UCLA, not Cal.

And enough chances thread. You people are just stressing yourselves out. Relax, I'm applying for Fall 08 too and you dont see me posting my stats and depending on the opinions of a pool of students just like me.

As far as I know, nobody in here works for Berkeley admissions. Just work with your counselors, ask intelligent questions on collegeconfidential when you need to (you've been lied to, there is such a thing as a stupid question). And good luck!

I hope everyone finds ways of relaxing until the decisions are put out, I mean it. We're gonna get through this without all the stress and that starts by not lurking around this forum and adding fuel to our doubts and fears.

Theres nothing this website can do to solidify your acceptance. You're GPA is what it is, you can only raise it from here on out..and your stats and interests are what they are, so just write them down on the application and work with the transfer center at your school, and the knowledgable admissions people who come to your school.

DO NOT TELL ME THE COUNSELORS AT YOUR SCHOOL SUCK

^ That is a lame and lazy excuse for not taking responsibility for your own education and finding someone who knows the answers to your questions.

Once again, Good Luck Fall 08 Applicants :D

And Collegeconfidential CAN BE A GOOD THING. I'm not going to act like I've never used it to get opinions or ask questions.

All I'm saying is relax people. Smoke if you have to, exercise more often this semester, focus on other things other than admissions and a dream school.

this forum is going to the dogs

btw, are you related to dhl3 somehow?

relax ppl! lol

i'm not related to dhl3, no.

I don't mind people making chance threads it is interesting to see what grades people are getting and seeing some of the ec's they are involved in so I think people should make chance threads. Sometimes people are just curious what other people think of their stats.

More people need to call the schools they are interested in to get information directly from the source.

exactly oxypunk....

theres two types of questions

stupid questions..which shouldn't be asked in the first place lol

and smart questions, which should be directed at the school you're applying to anyway if you want a smart answer.

collegeconfidential is only good for getting social information/advice and learning about others experiences, not a place to freak out and find others who will amplify your stress.

I swear, college rankings just make people freak out more about getting into a top college than is really necessary. It just adds to the fuel of kids freaking out about college. Thus, annoying cc post.
