After being (probably)rejected from UCLA, I can feel the imminence of my Berkeley rejection... somebody say otherwise? :(

Did you apply under Engineering? Because those who applied under it and got in got the acceptance letters you were talking about.

Your scores and numbers are really good and I don't see why you wouldn't get in. I had a friend with a 3.3 GPA, good SATs and mediocre ECS and he got into UCLA - Berkeley and UCLA have similar admit rates, so you still have a chance.

i think it might have something to do with your major. first of all, 690 iic is kinda lower for someone doing engineering at UCLA. second, they cant see how well u are in math/science related classes (except for bio AP). correct me if im wrong but they cant see ur math performance on the ACT? if so, that may be a factor... even though ur taking a bunch of science AP classes and calc AB, ur doing it during senior year and i dont know maybe ur EC doesnt reflect ur interest in math or science?

im positive though, that if u chose a nonmath focused field, u'd get in. i mean ur writing score is excellent and so are ur history, art, and language APs. but i think that engineering is pretty competitive by itself to get in anyways... i hope im wrong and u get that acceptance letter in the end =)

starman i am in the same boat as you. i also got rejected from ucla. my stats are 1420SAT(660V760M) sat2s 800 physcis 760 maths 2c 600 writing. with a 3.75 wieghted gpa. good ECs even i am uncertain at my chances in ucb EECS. i have read on other posts tht only the top students get accepted in all the UCs they apply to. the rest f them are divided up between the schools. like a ucb admit wud be rejected by ucla and vice versa. so theres still hope for us.
