berkeley major question..

Say I somehow get accepted to berkeley...

How likely and/or difficult would it be to switch from a peace and conflict studies major into Political science once I get there?

Not sure if I want to do this yet, but I would like to know if the possibility is out there.

thank you!

PACS pre-reqs completed.

p.s.

i will have all of the pre-reqs for political science done as well.

Sorry, I don’t know.

I would check the political science department website. They might have something about declaring the major. My guess is that it depends on how impacted the program is. If it is not very impacted, something like mathematics, you could probably squeeze in with no problem. But, if it is very competitive and impacted, i.e. engineering, they probably have requirements that prevent such a move. My guess is that political science at berkeley is impacted. Berkeley is a very politically charged place.

poli sci isn’t capped so it shouldn’t be too hard to switch.
