I'm just curious as to what people thought were the best/ worst things about their dorms freshman year.

I have heard so many different opinions on them, and I am just curious as to why everyone's experiences are so different.

I went to JMU and the worst thing about my dorm was no a/c but the best thing was room size (I got a giant room).

Best thing: I lived in a suite-style dorm, so I only had to share the bathroom with my roommate and two suitemates. We didn’t have to use a community shower.

Bad thing: Suite-style dorms are more prone to lack social interaction with floormates, and if it weren’t for my roommate in fall quarter and my upbeat RA (who always organized large dinner get-togethers), I would’ve never known who my floormates were. I would’ve known only my roommate and suitemates.

(I didn’t live in the dorms as a freshman though, but as a transfer student)
