I will be an incoming Freshman at Wake this fall and was wondering if any students had any advice on a bank to use. My current bank is just local (I live in St. Louis) and I'm looking to switch to one that would be easier to use (like lots of ATMs nearby, etc.) at Wake Forest. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

wake has a bank on campus. i'm pretty sure its wachovia, but you might want to make sure.

That sounds familiar, I'll look into it. Thanks. Anyone else?

There's a Wachovia and some other bank's ATM. Most have Wachovia accounts. I was hooked on Bank of America, though. I'd rather have BofA and pay $4 for a withdrawal ($2 charged by ATM company and $2 charged by BofA). BofA just has better service, in my opinion. Wachovia has a full bank, though, on campus, so that might be more convinient for you.

I find it really convenient to have a Wachovia on campus. That said, my hometown is small enough that there isn't a Wachovia at home, and so it turned into a problem over Christmas because I couldn't make deposits or withdraw from an ATM (without a fee). Out of curiosity, emsibdn, where is the other ATM on campus? I only know of the one right outside of the bank.

Just wondering, with Wachovia are you able to make free withdrawals from their ATMs?

As long as you have an account with them.

I just remembered the name of the other bank. There's a BB&T ATM at Benson, above the food court. It's kind of opposite to the Student Government offices. Near the information desk and the TV is in front of it.
