Best Cell Phone Carrier

I'm going to be an MSB student next year, and I was wondering which cell phone carrier to go with. I live in Kansas, so I have no idea what service is like at Georgetown. Currently, the best deal in the area is with T-Mobile. Please let me know! Thank you. :)

I went to visit during a GAAP weekend with T-Mobile and found that service was scanty and sometimes non existent on the campus. It was for this reason that my family switched to Verizon since they’re supposed to have the best coverage nationwide.

verizon has always worked across campus when i’ve been there.

Get Verizon, they basically own Washington DC (Verizon Center, get it?). Also, the only carrier that works in the Metro (they have a contract). That said, I have AT&T and it works fine, but Metro coverage would be nice.

does boost work in DC?

Although verizon seems to be the popular choice, I have sprint and had no issues with coverage on campus or down in the metro tunnels(calls or web browsing).

Oh dear! It turns out my parents already switched to tmobile. We can change it back as long as it’s within 14 days. Just how bad is it? Can you still get a signal?

Verizon and AT&T are both really good on campus. Verizon is also really good in the city. T-mobile is good in just about all places, except Georgetown. I came in with T-mobile, and then switched to Verizon (despite higher prices) because of the difference in quality, and I don’t use my phone nearly s much as some people. When I had T-mobile, about the only places I got reception were near Village A, near Darnall, and Near the McDonough Gym. I would strongly discourage T-mobile.

Thank you for your help. I truly appreciate it. If reception was that bad, were you able to get out of your contract without penalty? See, I use my phone a lot, and t-mobile just has the best plans at the moment so I’m kind of stuck. Please let me know! Thanks again.

I was using pay-as-you-go, not a contract
