My cell phone plan has just run out, and I was planning on switching services anyway...

Which carrier would you guys recommend? Based on how coverage is; which service most students seem to have (to save on potential mobile-to-mobile and the such); any other factors I didn't think of.

I live in the philly area and Verizon gets pretty good coverage. I don't know about what other students have, but some Verizon plans include unlimited IN network minutes and unlimited IN network texts, so it might be your best bet if other students use that.

I've had good experience with Verizon and Sprint (but Sprint didn't work way up top of the high rises). Others I know use ATT and love it. You may also look into T-mobile - they're cheaper, and get good service in philly (but not elsewhere)

I have service in the basement of the quad with AT&T. Full bars everywhere. I think most people have Verison followed by AT&T, so if you were to get unlimited calling and texting with verison members, it could be the best deal.

Verizon is most appealing right now just because AT&T doesn't have great reception here in some areas of new hampshire (I would know as I have it right now...)

But the fact that it doesn't work in Huntsman forum is kind of troubling. Is huntsman forum only for people in the huntsman program or for wharton students as well? (I'm only in wharton).
And does verizon work in the basement of the quad as well?

huntsman forum is the bottom floor (below ground) of huntsman hall, so anyone with a class down there will be affected - personally i can get reception on verizon in the main open area of the forum, just not in the classrooms.

I'm in the College but I've taken a handful of Wharton classes, all of which (by some odd coincidence) have been in the basement. I get reception in every corner of that building.

You'll also be spending quite a bit of time in Huntsman as it is open 24/7 and great for studying.

Penn students get 10% off their monthly AT&T bill, which would add up over 4 years.
