<p>since we are all gonna be in davis for the next four years of our life, i was wondering what is the best cell phone service in davis with the best reception? at the moment i am on att which got bought out by cingular so idk what i have. i heard verizon is a good provider with good reception everywhere. what are your thoughts.</p>

<p>I have walked all over Davis and used ATT/cingular without any trouble.</p>
<p>I have cingular and it's been fine, I don't get reception in the buildings but everywhere else is fine.</p>
<p>Yeah, no company that I know of has reception in the buildings on campus.. but I have cingular and I get reception in most areas of campus (outside).</p>
<p>Verizon has good coverage and decent reception in campus buildings. So far it's the best I've tried on campus (better than cingular/ATT).</p>
<p>There are many locations in town where cingular/ATT phones get no reception. </p>
<p>I'd also recommend a tri-mode phone - it'll pick up reception in areas that the new phones with only digital service cannot.</p>

<p>Aren't AT&T, T-Mobile and Cingular all working off the same towers now? D calls from her room with ATT and roomate seems to wander out on to the balcony which is fine on sunny days.</p>
<p>T-Mobile has been absolute **** for me. Its made my cellular life here a living hell. To get ANY reception(read: 1 bar) in my room I have to lay it slanted on this wall near my desk and only on this wall near my desk. In buildings Im guaranteed to never get reception, certain parts of campus out in the open I get no reception. Hmmm, what else, reception randomly goes away at certain times. Ive never had more than three bars on campus, etc, etc.</p>
<p>Its just a pain in the ass and Ill never use T-Mobile again because of it. Im switching to Cingular sometime this week. To anyone considering phone service - DONT CHOOSE T-MOBILE!</p>

<p>I don't understand why cingular and Tmobile are so poor for you at Davis, I have a little flip phone, and I have had reception all over the campus....I wonder if it is our phones...I have samsung..and I think it is digital gsma or something like that.</p>
