I have Verizon wireless right now. Which service is the best around Bowdoin?

I have AT&T // Cingular, it works almost everywhere except in some of the buildings that are almost undergroundish.

verizon works pretty well everywhere except in certain first-year dorms. which is kind of funny, to me.

Unicel and US Cellular are the 2 big carriers. Cell service SUCKS.

Which first-year dorms don't work for Verizon?

to be safe, let's say all of them. i only know about hyde and coleman for certain, though - i may have tried to use my phone in moore, but i don't remember what the result of this was. i also would bet that appleton's the same, because when i was outside hyde making calls, people were outside of appleton doing the same thing.

but it's easy enough, in all but the worst parts of winter (mostly just the month of february), to just walk outside and make your call next to the entrance to your dorm. and in february, you can either get bundled up, or invest in a calling card/go to another warm building to make your calls.

ATT/Cingular works in Moore, Winthrop, Maine, Hyde, and Appleton. It does not work very well in Coleman.

So Verizon works in most if not all upper school dorms?

it's worked in every other building that i've tried making a call from, with the exception of the ones i've mentioned. i haven't, however, tried to make calls from quite a few buildings - or from really stupid places in the buildings i have been in (like the basements).
