Hey anyone have an opinion on who is the best cell service provider for the happy valley?
thanks
I have verizon.

Verizon worked very well for our family.

Thanks jyber!

D has Verizon there, we have Verizon here. But on separate accounts, because we all agreed that her cell phone number should be local to Smith. It seems to have worked well.

OK so TheDad's post tipped me off to something. Does anyone have experiance with cingular or sprint?

I just graduated but while I was at Smith I had Cingular for all 4 years.

I never had a problem while outside, unlike some who had other carriers who couldn't even get decent coverage when they were outside.

Cingular really depends on the type of phone and which house you live in.

I lived in Cutter for 2 years and NEVER had a problem. I also lived in Gillett, where coverage was a little more spotty. One year I lived on 1 side of the house where I had to practically hang out the window to have a phone conversation which included many dropped callers. Another year I lived in the front of the house and the coverage was ALOT better. I had coverage in the hallways which was great.

With Cingular I also had reception on the first and second floors of the campus center, just not the basement level since it is below ground level. I was always amazed at how good my reception was in the campus center since it looks like a building that would have lousy reception.
