So I'm an incoming freshmen who will attend Rutgers (New Brunswick) in the fall. I enrolled in SEBS and was wondering what's the best/nicest dorms for freshmen. I was thinking to dorm on Cook since SEBS is on that campus. But I heard Livingston is having new dorms but r the new dorms for freshmen? And I also heard Busch had nice dorms. So for a SEBS freshmen who is looking for a good social scene and a nice campus where is the best campus to dorm on?

The new apartments are only for upperclassmen. If you want social scene, choosing suites is not a good option. You generally want to stay as close as possible to your classrooms regardless how nice the dorms are.

So as a SEBS student is it best for me to dorm on cook?

oh and wants a good second option if i can’t get on Cook?

Is Livingston where all that construction is going on right now?

yea all the construction is on the Livingston Campus

Perry & Voorhees on Cook are Freshman dorms and, from what I’ve heard, some of the last dorms to fill, as they are a bit away from the dining hall & buses. If you are a female, you might want to consider Douglass housing, as it is a bit more convenient to the C/D dining hall & transportation. (IMO the all-female dorms are a bit cleaner and smell far better than co-ed dorms).

Just so you know, you don’t get to choose your first year residence hall as an incoming student. You only rank the campuses in the order of which you would like to live on (unless you select a special living-learning community).
