Hi,

today I got a contract for supplemental housing and even it's probably not the best living experience, I am really happy about it, since I am a transfer student from germany and honestly, I would be totally lost (and maybe homeless) if I had not got this contract. SO yay! I am happy ;)

But as I could see it, I am able to choose a dorm where I want to live and as I have said, I am from Germany and I have absolutely no idea which dorms are good and which are bad.

I am 23 years old, so I would not say I need to live with tons of freshman together, but it is extrem important to me to get involved and to make lots of friends. It will be my first time at Penn State and I really want to enjoy the great social life at Penn State (and of course I want to study hard for my degree)
But getting involved is really important to me, because right now I do not know anyone from Penn State.

Also, I would prefer to get a room with 6 person, because those are the only supplemental rooms where everyone has her own bed, and don't has to share a bunk bed (I hate bunk beds)
So, are there maybe dorms which only offer 6-person supplemental rooms?

I don't think I want to live in north halls, since even supplemental rooms are expensive there, and I don't see the point in paying nearly 2700 usd for living in a shared 6 person room.

Has anyone any suggestiosn for me in regard which dorm would be good for a transfer student? Again, it is really important that I can get easily in contact with the other people in my dorm. Even I am not sure if this is possible, but I would love a kind of mix, like it is easy to meet people, to make friends, ... but also it is not always extrem loud, so that I still get at least a little bit of sleep and have time for studying.

The location is also important to me.

Thanks for all suggestions!!
