Best dorms for me?

<p>Here's a quick summary of myself: </p>

<p>I'm an international student, soon-to-be-freshmen, from Toronto, my ethnicity is Chinese and I'm a Christian. I prefer somewhere quieter, as it'll be my first time away from my parents and so I don't want too many distractions from my studies. I'm not too picky about whether the dorms are co-ed or not, though I prefer mixed since it gives a better social vibe. I'd also like something cheaper (the tuitions expensive enough with me being an international student and all); hopefully not too 'ghetto', but I can probably pull through. I'm going into a business major, so something near my classes would also be great. </p>

<p>I know it'd be better if I could visit the campus, but I just didn't want to bother buying a plane ticket and flying all the way over for a two-three hour, if that, tour. It probably would've helped with my choices quite a bit, but it wasn't very practical then and certainly isn't now (with my exams coming up and all) so some extra help would be fantastic. : )</p>

<p>I’m a current student at UIUC and an I-STAR for the summer, so I believe me when I say that I can help you a 100%. First off, ISR a bad choice for you specifically (sorry boramk). ISR’s only a good location for Engineering students or people who don’t care where they live (cuz it’s sort of close to the Illini Union and Green Street)</p>

<p>Business classes are usually located along the South Quad, so I would suggest 1.) Anywhere in the Ikenberry Commons (based on the price you want, and Business classes) HOWEVER, they do charge an extra fee if you choose a Living Learning Community in the Ikenberry Commons (like $100-200 extra a year).</p>

<p>BUT I wholeheartedly suggest Allen Hall. It’s the best one on campus (highest retention rate, most fun, most requested for new Resident Advisors, the gym’s right next door, and the beautiful lake). They charge an extra $310 a year for it (because of all the programs it offers), but it’s SO worth it.</p>
