For those with young men in college, what type of electric shaver do they use? My S needs to get a new one before he leaves but I'm wondering what the difference is betweent the foil type and the rotary type of shavers. He has a heavy beard and sensitive (sometimes acne prone) skin. Any words of enlightenment are appreciated!

Why electric? My son uses a Gilette…no power needed. Good close shave.

Both of my sons use a regular razor rather than an electric shaver. According to them, the electric shaver eats up their skin.

With acne issues, a regular razor is hard on the face so the electric is better for him.

S1 has used a Remington Titanium razor for the past three years. Likes it and it has held up well. I originally purchased it because it was on sale! Not a lot of research went into it. This summer he forgot the charger at school and so used cheapo disposable razors. That also seemed to work for him. I don’t think he has sensitive skin, but he does still use ProActiv for skin care.

S2 has always used a non-powered Fusion razor with replaceable blades. He does have a more serious acne issue. But the Fusion seems to work for him.

YMMV

Son took a Braun.Got it for him for holidays on sale. 4 years later he has replaced the shaving head once. He loves it. Self cleans too. The razor that is :)
