best shaving device? (men)

Manual or electric?

also, what kind of investments do you get involved in? I'm thinking of buying gold.

Shave Secret, an oil to use in place of shaving foam. I’ve only found it at Wal-Marts. It gives you a better shave than anything else. My brother was able to shave off a beard and mustache on the morning of his wedding with this stuff and a regular disposable razor.

As for razors, I like the disposable kind Gillette makes where the razor part is angled more like a squeegee (with a springed hinge) than like a toothbrush. The blade glides over your face instead of being dragged across it, and the springed hinge maintains an ideal angle. They’re about seven bucks for three, and well worth it.

Gillette Fusion. Nothing more.

Unfortunately, I don’t have that much facial hair to legitimately take part in this conversation… yet.

But for what’s worth, I utilize Gillette Fusion to take care of myself.

I use a Shick Hydro 5, it’s awesome. Barbasol for cream.

I wanna learn how to use a safety or even straight razor though, they’re cheaper and better.

I use a beard trimmer… I don’t have a beard, i just shave off as much as the beard trimmer will take. I’m gonna start going clean shaven though so I look younger.

Shick Hydro 3 and Noxema cream. However, I am looking for a different cream. I really like the Hydro, but I may try the fusion next just for fun.

I’ve always used electric razors for the past 4 years that I’ve been shaving but I forgot my charger over winter break and my razor died so I went out and bought a gillette proglide or whatever. It has a much sharper shave than an electric razor, but I cut my neck the first time I used it lol (pretty much impossible to cut yourself with an electric razor) and you also get razor bumps on your face for a while after you shave. Plus all the pre-shave, shaving cream, and after-shave you have to put on. With an electric razor you don’t need any of that. So I would say use a razor if you need a close shave for some event, but an electric razor if you just want to be shaven.

you don’t need pre-shave or after-shave with a manual razor either. I just put on hot water, then shaving cream, shave, then wash it off with cold water. I almost never get razor bumps that way.

Manual 3 blade. Any more blades than that and they wear out way too fast since the blades are thinner.

And don’t buy gold. This is the worst time to buy gold. Wait for it to crash, then (maybe) buy it.

Straight razor. Yeah, I went there.

Don’t listen to these guys. Electric Phillips Norelco is the way to go for sure. No shaving cream, just shave it off. You literally can never get cut or razor bumps no matter how hard you press down. It’s a little more expensive at first but it lasts a really long time so it’s for sure worth it.

razor bumps don’t affect some people. In the military manual razors were required… and I think most of us just used water or dry shaved.

I use a straight razor and also I’m currently looking into investing in renewable energy.

Anyone know a good brand of cigars?

Gillette fusion for sure.

Like eziamm, I use a Philips Norelco electric shaver. I started using electric shavers because I had bad acne when I was younger and normal razors would tear up my face.

I love my Braun electric razor. Quick and easy.

I usually let mine grow for 3-4 days, and then it gets a little long (quarter of an inch). I then use a Braun electric to get a general shave. Then I use the fusion for some clean up and precision. Couldn’t work better.

15 minutes max.

Before I got my electric I used just the fusion with plain water. I don’t know how people complain about scraped faces or whatever without using cream. Mine must be tough as nails or something.

I use an electric trimmer on my face to cut down on irritation. Plus I don’t get much facial hair. I use a razor above my lip though.

As for investing I would say read as much as you possibly can before thinking about throwing any money around. Go to investopedia.com, that site is amazing. It has a stock market simulator that allows you to invest in stocks at their actual prices. Same as investing in the actual stock market except it’s lagged by like 20 mins, and its not real money, but its good for practice. They also have a pile of great info. But to entertain your question about a specific investment, watch wikileaks for this [WikiLeaks plans to release a U.S. bank’s documents | Reuters](http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6AS68S20101130) and then short that puppy.

I find it works best to switch up what I’m using every now and then, currently I’m just using wilkenson tech 3s (they’re just cheaper xtreme 3 disposables. Woot!) Those blades are awesome, and I’ve been using them for what seems like many years now. OTOH, they do get a bit annoying after about a year so I’ll switch to something Gilette, use it till the blade wears out, and switch back lol.
