Best exercise/fitness room in Penn's college houses

I am an international student from a latin american country. I just transferred to penn(wharton) for this new fall term 2011. I will like to know which do you think is the best college house for me considering two things:
1) that i am a transfer student and I do not know anyone in the university
2) I really want be in a building that has a gym. nothing huge but a few weights and some cardio machines will do. which college house has the best exercise/fitness room?

Thanks for your help.... :)

anyone ???

From my experience, a lot of the transfer students I’ve met at Penn were housed in Stouffer, though I’m not sure if that’s just coincidence. If you’re looking to meet a lot of new faces, the Quad and Hill are pretty good options. If you choose one of the houses that’s primarily upperclassmen like the high rises, you’ll find that people quite often have their social circles formed already.

As for fitness rooms, I think that most of the college houses don’t really have updated fitness equipment. The best place for you to go to is Pottruck, which is located really close to most of the college houses.

I read that at at some college houses there are weights and cardio. I’m I wrong? Are the weights and machines only at the “real” gym?

There are weights and cardio in the quad rooms. Think the high-rises have cardio as well. Not sure about Stouffer.

That said, it’s less than two blocks to get to the full four stories of facilities offered by Pottruck, so why not go there? Most people go through college without even having seen the equipment available in each individual house.

I lived in Hill, and the fitness room was kind of shady/dusty. I still used it a few times–has a working treadmill, bike, and stairs, with a few weight machines…

not sure if it’s the best, but it works.
