Hello,
I was recently accepted to Tulane for EA. In making my decision, I am wondering what the best means of transportation are around campus. Do most students have bikes? Would a longboard be acceptable around campus? Or do most to just walk to and from class.
Thanks
Most walk, Tulane is a fairly compact campus. Bikes are great, not so much for on campus (although people do) but for around NOLA. New Orleans is flat as a pancake, and they have been adding bike lanes at a decent pace lately. But still easy to get around without a bike. There is the streetcar, of course, and Tulane runs shuttles to all major areas of the city.
Not sure about the longboards, maybe current students can comment.
Thanks @fallenchemist. Yeah, i’m mostly wondering if skating is allowed on campus to get from A to B, and I feel since the campus is as compact as it is (I have visited) I think a bike might be a bit overkill for anything other than going off campus.
I could have sworn I saw a picture they posted on their M-F news site that showed someone skateboarding on campus not all that long ago, but my search failed to come up with it. Hopefully someone will “pipe” up. Get it? pipe? skateboarding? Ahh, my reputation is shot.
My son is a sophomore and he sometimes uses his longboard to get to class. Several of his friends also longboard on campus.
And CC comes through, @YoFoSho.
Thank you! @NorthernCaliMom I’ll be coming from NorCal too, if I decide on Tulane (which is very likely). Thanks @fallenchemist
