I generally prefer to study alone in a place that's nice and quiet. Is it better to just head on up to the library or stay in my dorm since I have a single? Is the library ever full? I haven't been inside yet, and I plan on doing so asap.

Try the Biomedical Library. It’s a very nice place, and really quiet.

Get involved in research

My labs are always lock & key at night, so I’m the only one in any given room studying

The library only really gets packed during finals… try all the various libraries and see what your favorite is. I like CLICS the best personally…I need to check out biomed and scripps though!

I too like to study alone & in a quiet area… but I find CLICS to be too loud most of the time–many people are there… talking… not much studying really going in in CLICS :/

Geisel is super super quiet, but I’d recommend just staying in your room & studying there since you have a single! Nothing beats that :)

I don’t know about the UCSD dorms, but my experience tells me there will be too many distractions. I think the library is best. It helps me when there’s other people around me studying. If it’s noisy, wear earplugs. I ride a motorcycle so wearing earplugs for extended periods is comfortable for me. If you don’t want to get earplugs, get those earbud headphones that actually go in your ear canal. Those also block out a considerable amount of exterior noise…and it just looks like you’re listening to music.

S&E Library for the plants that are directly in front of the study cubicles

or

SIO Library for the ocean views directly in front of the study cubicles

Oh. And I heard the Biomedical Library is one of the most quiet places to study too.

I like a little noise, so I like to study at Price center.
