Best UF Dorm. Springs, Simpson, or Yulee? Are They Good? Help!

Hey guys!! I'm looking for Dorms at UF for fall 2015. I know about the $25 application fee and I will be paying it as soon as its available on UF's website. So hopefully ill get an early date to pick out my dorm. I am going to be a freshman so I need tons of help. I've been looking everywhere for info and I need more personal information and experience.

Here are my 3 choices so far:
Springs- heard its very nice and a bathroom shared between 4. Is it social and fun??
Simpson- just renovated right? Is it social?? Heard communal bathrooms are terrible?? How are the room sizes?
Yulee- in a nice area right? Social? Nice? And fun? How are the room sizes? Communal bathrooms...

Im basically looking for somewhere that I can many plenty of friends and have tons of fun.But i dont want it to be as crazy as Jennings or Broward. I want my dorm room to have space and not be cramped. And I'm not sure about the communal bathroom situation...

Any suggestions on these 3 dorms would be great!!

Springs and Simpson are too far from most classes. Also, Springs is mostly athletes, so I believe it’s slightly harder to get into. I’d suggest Yulee, if those 3 options are the only ones you’re looking for. If not, then I’d also suggest Rawlings. It’s definitely not as social as Broward, but it is nearby classes, has access to Broward Beach, and has a bus stop right in front of it. Communal bathrooms aren’t bad at all; in fact, that’s where you’ll meet most of the people on your floor. I’d also suggest Mallory or Reid. They’re only slightly farther from classes than Broward or Rawlings and they are way less social than either one.

How are the dorm situations in Mallory and Reid? Do they have AC? Double? Any suites? And with communal bathrooms is it basically shared with everyone on your floor?

And when you say far, exactly how “far” are Springs and Simpson from classes?

Mallory and Reid are pretty decent. All of the halls have A/C except for Thomas Hall but it will have A/C by Fall 2015, so you don’t even have to worry about that. Mallory has 20 singles, 49 doubles, 14 triples and 3 economy triples. Yulee has 18 singles, 51 doubles, 15 triples and 1 apartment. Reid has 19 singles, 43 doubles, 14 triples and 6 economy triples. As for the bathroom situation, communal bathrooms are shared with the entire floor, but typically a floor is coed meaning one half is girls, and the other half is guys so you only really share with half a floor. It isn’t so bad. I believe Simpson is like 12 minutes and Springs is like 15 minutes away by walking. Other halls have suites, but of course they’re more expensive.

Oh okay I understand. Are Mallory and Reid social dorms? Are there many freshman who usually live there? And are the rooms average when it comes to appearance and space?

Mallory and Reid are not exactly social dorms. I think a good amount of freshmen live there, but not as many in comparison to Broward/Jennings/Rawlings. The rooms are average when it comes to space and appearance.

Oh okay Thank you!
