Well, I don't really know how it works but I can study independently and take the tests, or I can take night classes... I don't even know if it's gonna help me at all.

No, it takes two years to complete the IB program. It's really only beneficial to someone before they enter university or their freshman year. I don't understand - do you want to transfer to McGill/concordia/whoever or just do an exchange there?

[bernardolw] Is ITSM really the best engineering school in Latin America ? I would assume there are schools in Brazil with greater prestige (in terms of publications, faculty serving in international editorial boards, etc.)

It's a subjective... but widely known opinion

Oh ok, then you can just use SAT or APs if you've done them. I think just your high school transcript might even do, but if you're really interested, I can ask admin for you.

megtfs --> I'll try to be accepted as an exchange at first, and if my college rejects me, I'll leave and transfer independantly anywhere I can.

I'm now living in the Philippines...

University of the Philippines

Ateneo De Manila University

De La Salle

i live in the U.S. but am going to UCL in the UK (got in by the skin of my teeth)...chose it over BC, NYU, and GW.

ITESM is not the best school in Latin America, not even in Mexico. The UNAM is by far a better school.

"Hey Claudia, wouldn't Australian National University be atop the Aussie list? I thought that was supposed to be the top school Australia...(?)"

I am not Claudia but thought i may as well add something (i hope someone has not alraedy mentioned it). Many would argue that ANU is our best university, however very few Australian students would move to canberra to go there. We tend to go to university close by or would move to a more 'exciting city'. So its not the top at our lists as places we want to go although it is a 'top univeristy'.

In Ireland:

Trinity College Dublin
University College Dublin
University College Cork

In canada:
McGill
University of Toronto

In Sweden:

Elite:
Handelshögskolan in Stockholm
Kungliga Teckniska Högskolan in Stockholm
Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm

Right below:
Uppsala Universitet in Uppsala
Lunds Universitet in Lund

Philippines:

University of the Philippines

De La Salle University

University of Santo Tomas

In Hawaii it's UH number 1, then Chaminade, then Kapiolani Community College

The best universities in the Philippines are:
UP
Ateneo de Manila
DLSU
UST, and
University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) Davao City : University of the Immaculate Conception

University of the Philippines
Ateneo de Manila University
De La Salle University
University of Santo Tomas

I have been to the Philippines for a couple of months not very long time ago and I think the top schools there are the University of the Philippines, De La Salle and Ateneon Manila (something like that). I haven't heard of those other names mentioned here. I think the University of Philippines is like the National university of that country. It has a very nice university campus and wonderful and very smart people too.

In Singapore, it's definitely NUS then Nanyang and SMU

Each university has its own "specialty"
Business Management, Accounting, Engineering, Computer Science - DLSU
Humanities and Social Sciences - ADMU
Medicine, Natural Sciences, Architecture - UST
UP - everything

But I'd say DLSU has the best facilities. No airconditioning in UP and ADMU.
