Best university in florida?

“Also, I don’t know where you’re getting the idea that UF MBA’s admission standards are close to that of the Ivy League.”

Per USNews,
Cornell MBA ave GPA: 3.30
Cornell MBA ave GMAT: 697
UF MBA ave GPA: 3.34
UF MBA ave GMAT: 687

No one claimed UF was as good as the ives. The statement GG made, however, is accurate.

UF can artificially inflate their admission standards all they want. In fact, it’s only been in the last two years that their GMAT avg has been as high as it is. It’s obvious that they’re trying to game the rankings seeing as their GMAT avg was about 30 points less even 2-3 years ago, but that hardly has anything to do with the quality of business education you’re receiving. Keep in mind too that UF’s GMAT range is HUGE (think 630-740 25th-75th scores) whereas your average top business programs don’t disperse nearly that much (although there are definite outliers seeing as MBA admissions are more subjective than other professional programs). So obviously you’re gonna get some top applicants who got into higher ranked schools that simply wanted to enjoy the sunshine and low tuition. Nothing wrong with that, but don’t let the statistics distort the facts.

Same can be said for FSU Law and how they’ve skyrocketed up the US News rankings in recent years by playing the rankings game. It’s a pretty blatant strategy but hey, whatever works. Just don’t tell a major investment bank that you got your MBA from an Ivy League-caliber institution (unless you wish to be laughed out of the interview).

^ Nice try, but the Warrington College of Business is not gaming a darn thing.

The college got a $50 million dollar donation 2 years ago, and they are building a massive new facility just for the graduate programs. The UFMBA program in South Florida has also been making some serious waves as well.

The state of Florida has nearly 19 million residents, we can cherry pick whoever we want, and residents want to take advantage of the in-state tution.
