I was also wondering about the Andover letter, like if it doesn’t come on the 10th does it mean I was rejected?

By the way, I thought I should let you guys know that I was talking to a friend who is also applying to Andover. He said that they are still making decisions on students and the committee is still at work. Also, he said that they said that a surprising amount of students get their applications in late. I find it hard to believe though, but then again, I was the girl who got her application in as soon as possible with my older sister nagging me, and my friend isn’t one to lie.

Just thought you guys should know :)

@ThePrepGirl, I am a parent and recently got a call from our school’s placement office. They told me that this week is something called “panel.” Apparently the AOs bring their personal choices to the table and explain why candidate A is a better choice than B, etc. I had to give some additional sports details, and another mom I know was asked to make a swimming resume for her son since he competes outside school. So absolutely you are correct, that decisions are still being made on acceptances. Pins and needles…

Thanks for that additional information. My parent received an email asking more about me, does that count?

I hate the wait for the results. I wish that I already knew by now, but to be honest, I do not really care if they accept me or not (Well, I do really, extremely badly want to get in), in that it is there lost of a student if they don’t accept me.

By the way, I think I want to remind everyone that even if you don’t get accepted that YOU control your future, and you can do anything with your life. Show the school what they missed. For example, when you giving your presidential campaign speech after you have won and you are asked about your education, you can list the schools you attended then add as a joke how you weren’t accepted by <insert school="" name="">.</insert>

All these GLADCHEMMS are is just a bunch of books, passionate students and laborious work wrapped together to create good schools. You can aways try home schooling or duel enrollment and fly through the grade material then go to college early.

I hope I don’t sound rude, but I just am trying to say for the students who do not get in, “Don’t worry about it :)”

Bumppp!! Any information about berkshires letters?

bummppp!! anyone know anything about hotchkiss’s letters?

Middlesex’s rejection letter was very generic.

"It is after careful consideration, and with deep regret, that we can not offer you a place at Middlesex School for the upcoming school year. This year’s applicant pool was one of the most competitive in our school’s history, and unfortunately, we had to disappoint many wonderful students.

On behalf of the Admissions Committee, I want to thank you for all the time and thought you put into your application to Middlesex School. We wish you the best."

We got the Hotchkiss acceptance mail today for my daughter.

Did Hotchkiss’s acceptance mail come by FedEx or SnailMail? Still waiting for mine …

Hotchkiss acceptance letter came by fedex. We got it on the 10th. Good Luck. I am sure you will get yours today unless you are an international applicant.

Lawrenceville probably has one of the most flattering. It’s like we-are-the-best-and-so-are-you. But then I’ve heard their rejection letter isn’t so nice.

Yeah, the rejection letter is something like we-are-the-best-and-you-are-not-so-go-away. :D

haha ^ this comment made me laugh. St. Paul’s letter was very personalized and just had a warm feel. Exeter’s package was great, but the letter was kind of cold, it almsot reads like a rejection…

peddie was the only one i applied to, lawrenceville seemed ugly in personality during the interview and tour, and it didn’t seem like a nice place to go to school I’m not surprised its admissions letters are overblown so i didn’t apply there. peddie’s acceptance letter was pretty damn flattering and i received letters from the mathematics department chair, the music department and a hand written one from my interviewer but hold on I’ve been reading a common theme in all these acceptance letters that say “we have had a record number of applicants this year” is this just a coincidence amongst schools or is this complete bull crap…

I’ve heard Lville’s rejection letter was something along the lines of:

“There were simply more candidates who were better qualified than you.”

Pretty darn cold. That was last year’s, according to a friend. I wouldn’t want to receive that…

It was cold, I received that. The “other candidates applied with better credentials” bit was cold.

btw, I’ve learned bb code. and i am so proud :)

That’s kind of rude!

It was the exact same rejection letter as last year, I think. not fun reading it.

It was mean. I mean, thanks for telling me that…

I liked Exeter’s acceptance letter. It was somewhat personalized. It listed descriptions of some accepted applicants (“outer space nutrition bar maker, farmer harpist from NH”) and then at the end it has a description of the recipient!
