What was the best/worst year of high school for you? and explain why. Was it because of grades, social life, parents, etc?

Personally, I felt sophomore year was the most pointless but junior year was the most hellish. By sophomore year, the allure of high school faded away and none of my classes were particularly hard but boring. Junior year sucks b/c of the amount of things you have to get done and balance (SAT’s, ec’s, grades, social life, etc). As hard as junior year was, at least I could somewhat see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Freshman year. It generally sucks for everyone, plus my grandmother (who was my legal guardian) died.

best year? junior.

worst - freshman. no question. just moved and knew no one… kinda sucked

Best - Freshman year hands down. I moved to a new state, just like Cens, but that year I met my best friends. To this day the group that I established in 9th grade are my best friends.

Worst - I can really pick. It’s a toss up between sophomore and senior year.

Freshman year was a love hate relationship with school, social life, etc. Sophomore year was beyond the best year of my life, I got more friends, my ECs were fun, I loved my schedule, classes, and teachers. This year kinda sucked because of the hurricane, and a bunch of other stuff, hard classes, sucky schedule, drama, etc, etc

Worst- sophomore

Best- this year so far, but it’ll probably be senior

Looking back I feel that they all had equal lows.

Worst: Freshman. I was in private school previously for 9 years so switching to Public School just sucked. I didn’t get the best grades and the whole year was just sort of a waste.

Best: Sophomore because of grades, but Junior because I was finally challenged in courses and actually liked most of them

My current sophomore year is my favorite of the two. Although I hate my classes, I’ve made a lot of friends, and become really involved, and I’ve expanded my social life. I’m guessing each year will only get better since I apparently judge my happiness on socialness…

Best- senior year. Less stress, more time for activities!

Worst- junior year. For exactly the opposite reasons haha

Worst: 7th Grade (I know this isn’t part of high school, but it’s when I decided not to take English Honors or Spanish 1 when I could have easily taken both of them).
Best: 10th Grade (I was finally challenged a bit with some AP Classes, although I could still be taking more)

Worst: Junior year–2 years worth of English? Ergh. And the workload kept on falling, and then I had record number of really late nighters and one all nighter. Also the year the Science Olympiad team and Mathletes did its worst, despite peaking with maximum seniors in Science.

Best: Senior year–yeah, I don’t really like my own class of 2013, but now I have 2014, 2015, and 2016 friends and a Science Olympiad team that I enjoyed. More work than I ever expected it to be, but I developed time management / senioritis fought against each other. I learned much, and have kept a calendar of things occurring / last ever list and will finally be complete with the first summer with not much to do.

Worst: Junior year - consisted of a new record of all nighters and late nighters for me, hard classes, and constantly increasing workload. Overall if my school was able to feel human emotions, it would be depressed (no offense). Because my school is closing this year (it’s on a military base), there are barely any people left at my school. In addition, most of my friends are accelerating this month (May) and are moving back to the states.

Best: Freshman year (so far) - Suprisingly, I was never teased for being a freshman ever; the upperclassmen either left me alone or had small conversations with me. This is going to sound silly, but it was such a magical year for me because that was the year I had all of my friends before some moved away back to the states. Also, I had more freetime, less workload, and a zit free face (barely any stress).

Junior year- It was absolutely a nightmare for me. I was SGA president for Junior class, blonde hair, blue eyed, skinny, sporty, and exuberant. Seriously before junior year I thought I had life made. I excelled in my school so I decided to take many AP classes. I began to excel in them, with a whole lot of work and studying. I remember nights where I never went to sleep. I remember one of my teachers freaking out on me for getting a 4 on a practice exam instead of a 5. There was so much pressure going on that I was miserable. I remember many of my friends turning to drugs for help. My boyfriend (football star) decided I wasn’t spending enough time with him so he dumped me, then began to sexually harass me. I handled it (police) but still getting through that was hard, I was also bullied by a group of mean girls. Yeah, bullied…it sucked and I hit my breaking point and became depressed. But it is all past me now.

Worst: Freshman year - It was the year when my sister was a senior. My parents were nagging her about college apps, and were always ****ed off. It was very tense to be at home, and it was no better at school. At school, I was discovering that my friends just saw me as a tool so there was a fair amount of drama.

Best: Junior year - Even though I piled the APs on heavily, and slept less, at least I was the most happy. I had lots of friends who I could trust and they were in a lot of my classes.

worst: junior year - horrible boyfriend, lost all my friends, the stress and i just snapped because i already only had a fragile hold on my sanity LOL

best: sophomore year - i had tons of friends, i got all a’s, everyone thought i was a genius for doing lab research, intel isef, my parents actually seemed proud of me

i hear sophomore year is awesome! so i can’t wait :)

Best - Senior year because I’m taking dual-enrollment classes full time. (Next semester I don’t have school on Tuesdays and Thursdays until four in the afternoon. I only spend like 15 hours in class every week, and my Christmas break is a month long, and my classes are all in my favorite subjects.) And I’m “going out with” someone, whatever that means. I never did that before.
