Best Years of Our Lives?

Why do people say that high school consists of the best four years of our lives? I love high school and all, but why do some consider it their fondest memory? I've always thought life would get better after grade twelve. Thoughts? :]

I agree, but i see where others are coming from. Some people live un-fufiling lives though and when they look back on their meaningless lives, high school was the best time ever.

well, let’s say that period starts senior year in high school?

I think people in high school generally don’t appreciate how little responsibility and how much freedom they have. The same is true in college, though I think people appreciate it more there.

I think it’s kind of sad when people are desperate to get out into the working world.

Senior year in high school is awful. Stressful, agonizing, and boring. You are sick of being at high school after four years, stressed out from all the work and college applications, anxious to get onto a new part of life and go somewhere new (college), etc.

Just saying.

EDIT: I agree with ^ though. I have to say I do regret taking that for granted until recently, and I am eager to take full advantage of it over the summer (no summer homework!) before I go off to college and have some of that taken away.

Yeah, I think these are the best years because in all honesty, most of us have little to no serious responsibilities, we’re young, we’re ignorant, and we have freedom. Many of us don’t have to worry about supporting a family, paying the bills, putting food on the table, and maintaining a job.

its today

carpe diem!!!

I agree. But I also think people romanticize the past

High school sucks.

But I think it depends on the person.

For me… I’ve been plagued with certain problems that are just completely out of my control and honestly, I can’t wait to get to college to get away from them and then graduate and get a job making my own money.
