well i'm taking 6 units in the summer and 15 in the fall that would give me 60 to transfer in the winter to a UC. Some schools don't guarantee housing for transfer until fall, so should i apply for winter for wait until fall?

You should definitely wait until fall. There will be other transfer students you can connect to in the fall, fin aid will be better and as you mentioned, so will housing.

Yes, but what's the difference in the transfer rate?

i don't know the rate, but it's simply a better experience in the fall

Honestly, I'm not sure about the rates.

I'm really struggling with this question, too. I can see the advantages for waiting until the Fall, but some of my schools (Oberlin, Michigan), allow students to transfer in the Spring. That would mean one more semester of a great college experience.

yah not sure if i want to go through another semester of community college with no social life especially when you didn't have one in high school, the only good thing i see about staying is doing less work hehe

Admission rates are better at many colleges for spring transfers since there are fewer people applying. A friend who was going to apply to Mount Holyoke for this upcoming fall is instead waiting for spring now because the odds are better. I haven't heard of housing issues, but maybe that's because I know just about nothing about the UC system -- it could be particular to them.
