@artskids congratulations!!! How wonderful! I know that she’s excited
Congrats to all on BU! My son still has no BU results…ugh.
Did anyone get any financial aid info with their Emerson acceptances?
Thank you!!!
@artskids Congrats on all the great acceptances!
If you are a poster from last year and currently have a freshman in a theater program (acting or MT), PM me for details on joining our Facebook group once all decisions have been made. The rest of you who are going through this hell right now…I highly recommend starting a FB group for your year! Be sure to go on the MT board and invite everyone there as well. It’s been really great getting to know everyone!
@emf1959 clicking the link on the Emerson portal acceptance letter, and then on the “accepted freshman” button takes you to a page with another FA link. It says financial info will be available via portal “in April”. I wish more schools would release finances with acceptances, as not having it makes things hard to evaluate seriously. Still no snail mail from DePaul, even, and it’s been a week. We are kind of chomping at the bit for that info so that we can plan last visits to schools. The next 2 weeks are spring break for my kid, and it would be nice to get this all worked out before she goes back to school.
@momof2lefties Thank you!!! I wish they would release financial info sooner as it has a big part in acceptances and could help open up spots for waitlisted students. I wouldn’t wish this process on my worst enemy LOL
@artskids - Congrats to you and your D!
@momof2lefties - on DePaul - we emailed to the theatre school. They said the portal should be updated (with fin aid) this coming week and the snail mail pkgs will go out. Fingers crossed. The sticker shock is beginning to take shape!
@Atreuh thanks for the DePaul info! I know theatre students are generally guaranteed merit aid, but I am very curious as to the amount.
Waitlist for BU. I don’t even remember them mentioning a waitlist in their talk at Unifieds. At least we are breaking the streak of No’s!
@momof2lefties for talent, DePaul can offer up to $30 or 40k. I can’t recall but its up there and that isn’t including the merit portion from the school. They also provide need-base I believe that is seperate. I love that about DePaul but its so hard to get into the Theatre School portion. Congrats again! Their tech/design is a very strong program and the location is fantastic
Congratulations @artskids !
After a string of rejections, my son got a yes for BU!!! We are shocked. He is over the moon as he loved the teacher who interviewed him!! He is currently at a conference in Nashville so I cannot ask him about the program now. Anyone have some info on it?
@HopeinMT so very excited for your S!! It is a top-notch program–ranked in 2016 as #15 in top 25 undergrad drama schools as ranked by the Hollywood Reporter (ahead of Pace, Emerson, Michigan, Minnesota, UNCSA, DePaul, and CalArts, if you subscribe to that sort of thing…) A huge accomplishment and I know a huge relief for you.
Yay!! Congratulations to @artskids and @HopeinMT!!! What a good day!! My D was admitted to BU today also. She is so happy. And this momma is happy bc it’s 2 hours away!!!
@HopeinMT - great news! Congrats to your S!
@ginaf1102 - fantastic!!!
We visited BU last spring. Great program, school and Boston!!
WOW Congrats to all…in 24 hours yes from Emerson, No from BU and Yes from Pace …what a crazy ride
@HopeinMt, I am SO happy for you!!! How wonderful to get a top-notch, prestigious acceptance after all the rejections! Fantastic news!
@ginaf1102 , huge congratulations to you too! Your D will have such an exciting choice to make when this is all over!
congratulations to all of the BU and Pace acceptances! Its so nice to be back on the positive side of auditions.
@marg928 -
Is the only way to participate in the class of 2021 group by being on FB because I am not and don’t want to be, but I would love the cameraderie. My S17 is a techie.
Have all or most of the Pace and Purchase acting calls gone out? Asked in desperation…
