BFA Acting Pre-Screen and Auditions. Class of 2022 - Sharing!

Thanks everyone! I’m hoping all these kids get something they are happy with, even if not first choice. It seems like you all were really good about working on back up options that were appropriate for your kids.

Twoboysandadog - I hope you are right about Northwestern - he did apply with the MT supplement (and did NOT include his “dance” video). But I am worried that his GPA is too low for them. It’s hard for these kids to do it all. We’ll see.

Hi everyone. Pace Acceptance Letters will be going out on Monday

@mychildsslave So she did not apply to the BA at LMU?

Hey @actingdreams aren’t they a phone call school? Very hard to keep track. Maybe they do both??

@laylamom Editing my post. This is what I get for reading emails too quickly :frowning:

We received a personal email from the top

Hi everyone. Pace Acceptance Letters will be going out early March and my S. has confirmed for acceptance again. After a lengthy conversation, NYC this week is where he really wants to be due to opportunities and diversity. This is a huge investment with cost (or not but still no full tuition is really full)

I know that I’ve said that the wait is brutal but It is a crazy Brutal knowing that our auditions are not over until the evening of March 11th and by then I will literally be needing a sleep aid to get me through letters/emails or phone call waits

The good news is that my S. School has recently waved a large portion of his student fee’s at school (His School is really special ! ) knowing that we’ve funded callback weekends and travels

I had no idea Senior year would be this stressful and I feel like I’m the one going to school. I’m doing my best to try not to be a helicopter mom but in this Artistic field, I think we have no choice but to be more of one than not

Pace has traditionally been a “phone call” school (followed up by a letter). I don’t know if that has changed this year.

No, Pace is a phone call school.

hi @Jamesdm25 @artskids It was an email sent today and it states that letters are going out in early march and that they are holding a spot for him… I’m 100% sure of it

@actingdreams - was that a “group” type email or specific to your son? After all, since he already knows he’s accepted he doesn’t need the call…?

Okay, so if letters are going out “early March,” that means they’re NOT going out this Monday, which is Feb. 27. More likely the following week.

@marg928, Yes she did, and she was accepted. But shockingly, they gave her such a low amount of merit money which made the cost still at about 60K a year, that my daughter was completely turned off by them. So now we’re waiting on other schools, and if we circle back to LMU, I’ll definitely be calling the student financial aids office to pursue more merit money.

@toowonderful it was not a group text and very specific. he just asked how was the rest of his auditions going and that he really hopes that he is still considering pace and that there is a spot for him. to expect the letter(s) early March. At first, I thought it was next Monday but I misread it. It was sent this afternoon

@actorparent I had clarified that it’s early march (Scroll up :slight_smile: )

@actingdreams - so they may be calling other accepted students, as they have in the past

@toowonderful maybe so. You all know Pace behavior far more than I do. We didn’t even have a traditional audition (if what occurred was an audition). I think phone calls are exciting. I hope that it still happens so that the students who are really hoping to get in actually have the moments. I’m hoping for a call from Juilliard the same way! (a girl can dream)

It’s funny, I prefer emails or letters to phone calls, because it’s something tangible you can read over and over again. If D got a phone call acceptance to a favorite school, we’d be so excited, but then the next day, I would get paranoid and think “Did that really happen, or did I dream it?” I like tangible proof to refer back to!

I’ve said it many times before, but for my money, nothing beats “the big envelope”. I’m old fashioned

A phone call acceptance is very exciting. An e-mail acceptance is very exciting. A portal experience is very exciting. But I have to say, getting a personal phone call, from the person you auditioned for, is very special. They followed up the next day with an e-mail.

Pretty sure even a smoke signal would be welcome!

Congrats @actingdreams. Sounds like since your son was accepted at his audition, they are following up in email to let him know next steps. His path at Pace has definitely been an exception to the rule (in a good way).

Did he apply to both FTVC and acting? Grant is the director of acting and he makes acceptance calls for the BFA acting program (in case those who are waiting to hear want to know that info) and then a letter comes later. So, if they emailed to let actingdreams’ son know his letter will be mailed early March, I would bet acceptance calls will go out just before that.

I don’t know how FTVC notifies kids.
