BFA Acting Pre-Screen and Auditions. Class of 2022 - Sharing!

@Work64 it looks like there are some phone calls, some email notices that are going out (maybe it’s computer automated? we received 1 acceptance at 8:30 pm last night) We were told that acceptance packages will be mailed out this week. Pace seems to accept a larger class, perhaps they started today and will continue for the next day or so

@Rizzo2 there was only one person on CC last year that got that call. Seems as though they will not accept you for two programs at Pace. I guess the ones who get the calls were on the list for both programs so had to choose before the official acceptance went out.

Congratulations @FourStars - two great choices!!! Can hardly wait to read about your D’s decision. Congratulations @actingdreams! When is your S’s upcoming callback?

I’ve been busy all day - I missed so much! Congrats to all on acceptances today - hooray! To all the new people - I’ve been on here for almost 5 years (D1 is the 2017 MT grad!). I first got on CC after she finished her audition year. And I still don’t comment very often!

I’m feeling more and more stressed - haven’t heard anything since Texas State hold last week. One of D’s friends who isn’t on CC & auditioned for Acting and MT got acceptances from Rider (MT) and Wagner today, and already has a couple of other Acting & MT acceptances.

@Rizzo2 - D auditioned for both FTVC and Acting at Pace. No call. We visited the school in August & the cute girl giving us the tour was in FTVC - she had auditioned for both & they called her to ask what her preference was.

So no call likely means got into one or none!! Can’t wait for resolution…

My D auditioned for Pace BFA and has heard nothing.

Hi @MomofJ5. It starts on Friday at precisely Noon.
We were emailed that a snowstorm will be making an appearance beginning tomorrow in NYC. Hoping it clears up prior to our flight. The good thing is that my Son met 3 guys and 1 girl at the Rutgers callback and they also will be at the Juilliard callback.
We also met a friend through a friend situation who will be at Juilliard as well so there are 5 that he can connect with instantly. I was hoping they could meet at Rutgers however she was in Session 2 which means she arrived Saturday when my Son was leaving. Nice that he will recognize a few faces. Don’t know if rutgers were bfa or mfa. They were all at the callbacks together. Same mfa and bfa will work together at Juilliard… I’m a nervous wreck. You’d think I was auditioning

@Rizzo2 I think maybe I wasn’t clear. Pace does make acceptance calls. My D applied to both FTVC and Acting but did not get a call asking her which she preferred. She did get a call of acceptance to the FTVC program.

@FourStars, wow! That is wonderful news. Your D must be thrilled to have such amazing choices. A testimony to her talent and hard work!

@actingdreams I can totally understand that you would be a nervous wreck for your son! What amazing validation to even get to do these final callbacks for such amazing programs. Here’s hoping the weather cooperates and that he has a really wonderful time.

@actingdreams Your son is going to have the most amazing time. No matter what happens in the end, he has had master classes with some outstanding faculty and met equally as talented students. As hard as it is to do, but easy to say, let whatever will be - be. This weekend is a blessing and let it unfold as it should. Keep us posted!!!
** Disclaimer - if my D had made it through to the final Juilliard weekend, I would’ve needed some medication. ** :))

@ginaf1102 , me too about the medication!!!

Dear @Ginaf1102 I’m literally typing this with 1 eye closed because the anxiety attacks wake me up at 3 “AM” and keeping me company until 4:15 “AM” ; I am sure he’s going to have a great time and I’m checking flight status. My friends in NY have been texting to say that they have already received a lot of snow and we can’t deal with a cancelation. I will certainly keep you posted

Thank you @breakingbarriers2018  and I was told that most of pace acceptances will be mailed. Hope it’s an email for everyone. I think Marg stated that some were called to confirm a choice for acting or ftvc…My son was the same way (sort of, you will have to find our feed on this subject) but we were told once again to look out for the acceptance package. Maybe not everyone will receive the call but the acceptance in the mail. Pulling for you

@actingdreams et al… Heading to New York Saturday for D’s spring break. How cool is that that she wants to spend her freshman spring break with her mom? Anyway… having brunch Sunday with some theatre friends at a spot across the street from Julliard. I’ll send some good CC juju… maybe the proximity will help all our brave kids!

How nice @ThenSheSaidIt I wonder if the brunch spot is next to the hotel that we we’ve stayed in twice already. If so they have really good food  Thank You so much! embrace every moment that you have with your D. I have a feeling that many of our kids will not be moving back to our hometowns after they are finished. This makes my stomach ache but we have to learn how to release  Have fun!

@actingdreams , break a leg to your son! It would be SO amazing if he gets into Juilliard! What time is his flight? I live in NYC, and right now (9 am) it’s only raining lightly. Radio says the heavy snow will start this afternoon. Hopefully your S will have safely arrived by then!

@actingdreams. Thinking of you! The storm does not look to be heavy accumulation. I think you should be ok travelling. We are all pulling for your son. Just to be in the room for final Juilliard auditions is a huge validation. It will be an amazing experience. I would be losing my mind too, soo… Breathe. Think positive. Be a calming influence if you can. Enjoy the ride.

@actorparent1 Thank you! He wanted to risk leaving the day of instead of Thursday so we leave at 6am and the flight is 2 hours. We will have enough time to relax before the registration and lunch there but he stays and begins auditioning soon after. It’s not until Friday. I hope that all of the snow will be over with by then. If flights look choppy, we will have to try to leave tomorrow night. thanks for the update!

@FourStars Thanks so much! I am looking forward to another tour. There is so much history stored at Juilliard such as the first writings of Mozart and quite a few others. Their walls have all of the words from Shakespeare that he has ever written. It’s amazing!. We only need 1 yes some where  I’m grateful for those so if nothing else works out, I’m sure he will be fine either way. I’m taking an extra Bikram Yoga class today to see if it helps with my sleep ( good grief !)

@actingdreams - are you also traveling to NY? If so, you need to plan which shows to see! I think the storm today is expected to dump a lot of snow, but if you are flying in on Friday morning- you should be ok. I think it is easier and faster to clear March (heavy) snow. Keep checking for cancellations. Which airport?

Btw- did anyone else apply to Penn State (BFA-Acting)? I posted our WL result, but didn’t see anyone post an acceptance. I know they are a small program, but have no idea about their numbers (acceptances, WL etc,) because their talk before the auditions didn’t invite parents. Ugh!
