BHP Questions

A few questions. These may have already been asked, but I just need clarification. If it's already answered, just link me to the thread. Thanks!

Does BHP look at ACT scores OVER SAT scores at any point? If my combined CR and Math scores aren't exceptional, will a strong ACT score supercede that? I know it's wholistic, but BHP is also pretty numbers/scores based, and when reporting class statistics, often only CR and Math are listed, and not ACT scores.

I know that it's in my best interest to apply early to the program. Obviously a lot more comes with it other than "early notification" due to rolling admission. But if I choose to take both SAT II and SAT again, I won't be able to submit everything until November. Is that too risky?

BHP AND Plan II? Not sure if Plan II is for me, as I want to focus on math and business. I'm not sure if I'm missing the point of Plan II. Is it supposed to give me honors pre-reqs? How will AP scores be treated if I go Plan II? But I also don't want to be put in large non-honors pre-req classes if I only do BHP.

@txlonghohns who PMed me. Hopefully you stumble across this thread again as I’ve not yet made the necessary 15 posts to be able to PM you back. Thanks for your answers - they really did clear a lot up!

A few follow up questions.
So a student enrolled in BHP still has to take prerequisites with non-BHP students at UT (meaning large classes)?
And did your supplementary r

First of all, you are correct that BHP (and even McCombs) put quite a bit of weight into your class ranking, your standardized test scores, AND YOUR TRANSCRIPT. For the transcript, they want to see that you obviously challenged yourself, and they will see what you took in regards to what your school offered.

BUT, the business program, especially BHP, wants to see leadership on your resume. They want to see that you were active in your school and community, and that you had more than just grades and numbers. Because these programs are so selective, everyone has the numbers. I’d recommend organizing an event to raise funds for some charity/relief project. That might standout for your resume.

For your classes, BHP is for your lower division and upper division business core classes, as well as some additional classes you have to take for your BHP Major. There’s also a University Core consisting of 42 hours. This includes your rhetoric, literature, social science, science, history, government, and math among other classes. For these, unless you test out, you will be in large intro classes. No way around it . Plan 2 might help in the liberal arts fields, but for math and science, I doubt it.
