I plan to take BI0020 in my sophomore year and take another biology course in the fall semester of my senior year. Is BI0020 enough for the MCAT? OR should I take two biology courses before taking the test to be better prepared?

Can anyone preparing for the MCAT give me an answer?

No, its not enough. First of all, you are supposed to take a year of biology, and bio 20 is only a semester. You should probably take genetics, a cell bio, and physiology. I have mostly studied for the physical sciences so far, but that is my guess just from glancing at the bio part.

but i heard you can fulfill the requirements after taking the MCAT. But i guess i have to finish bio before taking that. Ahh. Taking two sciences courses in one semester will be pretty stressful. Sigh.

You're planning on being pre-med, but you're afraid of taking two science courses in a semester? You might need to have a reality check about pre-med requirements / the nature of med school...

taking bio and orgo in one semester will be really stressful. That's what I'm tryin to say. And that's what many pre-med ppl told me.

I take 3 sciences most semesters. You will pretty much have to take 2 in many semesters to do a year of chem, orgo, and bio. Suck it up, its not that bad. People like to talk about how terrible orgo is, but its really not, espescially with the teachers at brown. And bio 20 is a joke from what I have heard. Most people skip it anyways.

How can a future doctor be so afraid of a few science courses?

i too take 3 science courses a semester (i'm a biophysics concentrator). for me, it's easier than taking 3 reading intensive classes. it all depends on who you are.
