Big MT College List Still Open?

Over the past few weeks a number of other CC'ers and I have asked to have numerous schools with MT BFA's or BA's or minors in MT added to the Big List. I have also send emails and PM's to the moderator asking that these schools be added. I think it is very important as there are many of them, and this is the time when current h.s. juniors start looking and planning summer visits to colleges. The requests are so far down the list now that I am concerned that future MT applicants may not see them. Does anyone know how we can get them added to the list? To look at them, see the last 10 or so posts on the Big List thread.

For efficacy’s sake, here is a combined list of the suggested programs to be added to the big list. Another poster also suggest a minor in MT at Santa Clara University, but I can find no mention of it on their website.

Hi Christie,

I am a moderator. I have not personally received any emails or PMs about the Big List, though I don’t know who you have sent them to (perhaps another moderator or the forum administrator). While CC has many moderators, I am the only one who would likely deal with this sort of thing, as it is not truly “moderating” the forum but is just offering to keep some information for the members and updating it. The Big List used to not be right here on CC’s forum, and we only had a LINK to the list which was kept by someone on a site they set up. CC did not keep it updated or maintain it. When that site no longer was available, we saved the list that others had contributed to and posted it right here on the forum and as new updates have come in, I have updated it. As in the past, it is only updated periodically as a service, even though moderators don’t typically gather and post information for members. The moderators are strictly volunteers who moderate the forums and enforce the Terms of Service. I moderate many forums on CC, besides the MT one, and the mods deal with reports that come in and things behind the scenes that you likely don’t notice. I have been aware that new posts have gone up by MT forum members on the Big List thread with some new programs or information that needs to be added. I just had not gotten around to doing it yet. I also like to verify the information when I can so that it is as accurate as possible. I only work on the updates once in a while, in addition to moderating, which again is all on a volunteer basis (I have a job too).

Thank you very much for collating the most recent updates that members have contributed. I will double check on those and also look back over the posts since the last time I updated the Big List. Then, when I have checked it, I will add and/or update the information in POST #2 on that thread, which is the most up to date list of MT College Programs. Thanks for your patience.

I recently was able to get the Forum Administrator to add six new MT college sub forums!

Thank you, College Mom, we all certainly appreciate the time and effort you put into moderating the MT list. I don’t know how I would have supported my daughter in her successful audition season for MT schools without it!

If it is any help, I have, personally, reviewed the information, through their websites, on all of the colleges listed in my post #2 above. So they are all recently checked. I needed something to do while my student teacher took over my class!

Also, just researched and found out that Southern Oregon University, as of this fall, is adding:

BFA Theatre Arts (audition) with Minor in Musical Theater (you have to dig into the website to find it!

PLEASE NOTE:

**I have updated the Big List of MT Colleges in POST #2 utilizing input from CC members starting on Post 71 (since the last time I updated it). I verified all information myself online. If you notice slight differences in information that was reported on the Big List thread or here by others, it is because I listed what I found myself to be most accurate. Questions are welcome, of course. New additions or modifications to old listings are all in red, though of course previous updates were also in red and so not everything that is red is new this time around. Also, as a clarification, I used an “~” if the school was NON-Audition as an entering freshman applicant, even if there is an audition after a year or two to be admitted to the MT program (which was noted in the listing) and/or if there was an audition only for scholarships, which was also noted.

Thank you to all who contributed information.

Note to Christie…I appreciate the time you put in and also collating a list. I added more things than on your list, however, as I included other input that came earlier, starting on post 71 on the Big List thread. While I realize you looked up information too, I always look it up myself to verify information and I have had to modify some of the input that was listed starting on post 71 and so my listing might not match exactly with what others reported. If there are still any questions or clarifications, please let me know.

I hope this helps.

I am going to close this thread so that all input on the Big List stays on the Big List thread, which can be found here:**
