Big Ten expansion moves ahead

coollege,
Thanks for sharing.

Whoever wrote that is very funny…and IMO spot on. Who needs UT? I’d love to see Aggie and maybe Bailey in MOO!

That is hilarious.

WOW Colorado is going to leave the Big 12 for the Pac-10?

Oh and USC got a 2 year ban on post-regular season play for football

With Nebraska going to the Big Ten and Colorado bolting for the Pac 10 (according to reports out this morning), the Big 12 is toast. Now comes the battle for Texas.

^^ Indeed, breaking news of the day!!! lol~

Colorado to Pac-10

Link: [It’s official: Pac-10 announces addition of Colorado - Campus Rivalry: College Football & Basketball News, Recruiting, Game Picks, and More - USATODAY.com](It's official: Pac-10 announces addition of Colorado)

Numerous sources have Texas & TAMU to Pac-10 as of late… So, I now hold my breath for Notre Dame to Big Ten!! lol

So far this is great news for the colleges and states of Nebraska and Colorado. Great move academically and probably athletically. Unfortunately its about to get nasty.

Sparkeye, as much as I would have loved to see Texas join the Big 10, I think having them in the conference would have made it too tough at the top. Imagine having Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn state, Texas and Wisconsin (to name a few) competing for the crown annually. Way too tough. Even without Texas, it is going to be the very tough. I still hope that Texas will join the Big 10, but that would come with its own problems.

According to ‘sources’ from Rivals & Orangeblood.com, Pac-16 announcement is set for Monday the latest (most likely tomorrow)… Regardless, I am still waiting on Texas & ND to be included in Big Ten’s expansion until the fat lady sings!! Go Big Ten!!! lol

Conference sizes at the moment:
Big 10 - 11 teams
Big XII - 11 teams
Pac-10 - 11 teams

This is great

ThisCouldBeVeavn, the Big 10 now has 12 teams:

Illinois-Urbana Champaign
Indiana-Bloomington
Iowa-Iowa City
Michigan-Ann Arbor
Michigan State-East Lansing
Minnesota-Twin Cities
Nebraska-Lincoln
Northwestern
Ohio State-Columbus
Penn State-University Park
Purdue-West Lafayette
Wisconsin-Madison

I don’t think Nebraska is official yet.

Still, 12 in the Big 10 and 10 in the Big 12 is funny.

These quotes are looking funny:

:)

That’s right, I’m playing “gotcha” politics!

LOL. I was hoping noone would remember that post! Damn you UCB! Well at least we aren’t taking schools who aren’t AAU members…yet!

I’m not buying this until I see further confirmation, but a KC TV station is reporting that UT and TAMU have petitioned for membership to the B10.

[Texas Hold 'Em: Longhorns, A&M To Big Ten - Sports News Story - KCTV Kansas City](http://www.kctv5.com/sports/23860558/detail.html)

But methinks this is a bit shaky, since most of the scuttlebutt has the B12 South (- Baylor) going to the Pac10 (unless, UT is playing a good game of sending out false leaks).

And frankly, I don’t buy the whole OSU to the Pac10 w/o UT and OU.

Another UT/TAMU to the B10 “report”.

[Big Ten Expansion – Texas and Texas A&M May Choose Big Ten](http://kentsterling.com/2010/06/10/big-ten-expansion-texas-and-texas-am-may-choose-big-ten/)

^ Sources closest to Texas haven’t mentioned anything about Big Ten…
[Orangebloods.com - CU is first to commit to Pac-10, UT, A&M, others will follow](http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1093010)

I’ll only believe it when I see it though…too much speculation going on.

What happens if ND finally decides to join the Big Ten too? My gawd!..Nebraska, Texas, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin and Texas A&M in the same conference? Such football history.

Wisky and perhaps TAM don’t deserve to be listed with the others…

^Neither does TAMU (tho, they and Iowa make a pretty good 2nd tier).

Things are getting crazier as there are also reports of TAMU and OU talking to the SEC w/ other reports of TAMU and VaTech to the SEC.

^ That’s why I listed 'em last. But it wasn’t meant to be a rigorous order either.

How do the Mildcats feel about competing with such football juggernauts?
