I was wondering while I was trying to figure out what all I want to bring to UMich if I should bring my bike? I know there are plenty of sidewalks and parks around the campus. Would it be benifitial for me to bring it to get around campus and town in or would it be more of a hassle? Also, is there plenty of bike ranks/storage for me to keep my bike if I'm not using it and what is the chances that my bike will be safe there?

i saw many bike-riders on the wide sidewalks and numerous bike racks all over campus to acommodate them, so it should be convenient in the summer/fall/spring, but not winter when it snows. orientation leaders kept on reiterating how common it is for parts to be stolen, and the importance of having several locks on a bike. buses are very convenient if you dont have a bike, as they arrive at stops every 10 minutes.

I saw bike racks all over the place at orientaion. I was thinking of bringing one too, but then I realized that most of my classes are actually in my dorm building (East Quad - Residential College) so I probably won't even need it.
