Bing tropped to 86th?

To those currently enrolled, does this drop come as a surprise? Do you see the school improving each day, or is it only getting worse? Also, what do you think is the worst aspect of bing?

--I am planning on applying there.

us news rankings suck.

It's no surprise. And it'll keep dropping. BTW, it has the highest transfer rate of any public school in the Northeast. The only thing that'll stop the slide is when SUNY decides to make Binghamton its flagship campus. Until then, Geneseo, Stony Brook and even Albany will surpass it. Too bad since it's got a lot of bright, smart, educated kids who can't afford the better schools they deserve to be at.

by the way, I meant to type dropped, not "tropped."

I also heard complaints about the indifferent and arrogant staff, which treats the university more as a business than anything else. Not talk about the lack of school spirit and the detestable campus.

well the school is under a bit of construction this semester and they are trying to change the look and aesthetics of campus. But to make bing look like a good school will take atleast $100 million dollars and bing just doesnt have that kind of money. They really need to redo most of the campus and when they expand they will have to in the coming years. Most of the buildings built in the 1950s are really showing their age.. its kind of sad.

collegeparent that's so true!!! i know so many really truly smart people who ended up there because of money. it's definitely one of the best SUNYs anyway.

Calling it "one of the best SUNYs" is actually damning it with faint praise. The SUNY system is in a lot of trouble and it's only getting worse. The best SUNY title will be fought out by Geneseo (with contenders being Buffalo & Stony Brook) and wannabe Albany --

i wish i can afford to go to a private school. I'd go to columbia or fordham in a heartbeat...

i agree with giogio... us news is so falsified... they put syracuse university over several clearly greater colleges (including binghamton)... ha
