Binghamton Dorms

I am an International student, and I consider myself quite well-balanced; I'm studious, fairly social and I like to participate in activities and events. As an international student I would also need break housing.

My first choice is Newing because it has recently been reconstructed, it offers break housing and is known for being environmentally friendly. In addition to that if I choose the corridor style I don't have to share a bathroom with more than 6 people. (I'm not really a fan of sharing a bathroom with more than 6 people maximum.) However I have heard that Newing has the reputation for attracting 'jocks' and 'frats' and I'm unsure I would be able to fit in with such a crowd.

Could anyone help me establish which dorm would best suit me?

Thanks :)

Newing sounds like a good fit! Yeah, the frat scene is probably more prevalent than in other dorms but it’s not a huge deal. It’s definitely not the majority. In my experience most people leave their doors open here and there’s a very social atmosphere; you get to know a lot of the people on your floor and particularly in the rooms next to/across from you. Especially considering you need break housing, I think it should be all good.

Thank you rebeccar, I’ve really been leaning towards Newing
