I got the same message but hope its because I switched from the business school to the Harpur school 2 weeks ago (Read my story on previous page). Do you think that can be it for me or am i rejected/differed?

My son can access the QuikPay link. Says he’s eligible to pay his deposit for Fall 2014 Watson Lower Division. He applied for engineering - out of state.

I don’t think they reject too many people EA but I think they do defer many.

I’m not trying to jynx anything, but I looked at last years college confidential, and those who were eligible for the entirety got in. I don’t know if any “not eligible” people actually got in (too many pages to scroll through), but I’m sure it doesn’t mean much.

We shouldn’t be stressing about this, it will all be official on wednesday.

Good luck to everyone! :)

Most of last year’s applicants who got the not eligible were deferred and ALL of the ones who got the eligible message were accepted EA.

@lilaw I figured as much. So congrats to those with applicable status already.

To those without it, such as myself, there’s still people in the past who didn’t get “applicable status early” and we’re still accepted. Would love to be a part of that bunch.

lilaw88 - Are you saying that some of the applicants who saw “not eligible” did get accepted EA?

No. They got deferredvand accepted eventually

anyone else wanna comment on my story on page 6

Is it safe to say that the SAT/ACT is weighed the most in the admissions process? If not, what is? I know that they say that each component of the application is equal, however; it seems to be that for the EA applicants, SAT/ACT scores are the people who have that “eligible” status.

Does anyone agree? Does anyone actually know the facts on this?

We’re is the message if you got accepted EA? Is it on the home page of the status checking website?

someone said they got in with a 23 ACT which is like a 1590 SAT score so I would not be so sure about it. I am really confused by this whole thing with logging into the quikpay. I think tomorrow will answer a lot of questions. Since its a week day the admissions people will be processing apps and answering questions over the phone/email.

@jschoolio
You will officially know through email, as well as status checker.
There’s also this artificial way, that people are checking now with the deposit eligibility (I wouldn’t rely on this method though.)

@jrok
Really? What year was this?
Yes, I think I will; or someone should call the admissions office tomorrow to get some questions answered. In addition, does that mean that yesterday and today the admissions office weren’t processing admissions - so that means tomorrow people that weren’t “eligible” today, can possibly be eligible tomorrow?

Just out of curiosity, how do you check it artificially?

Thank you! I wasn’t eligible but hoping for the best!

@jbryant
People in last years posts reported not being able to log in to the deposit quickpay thing, but then eventually a day before admissions or so being able to log in and or become eligible.

thanks thats (somewhat) comforting

2.9 gpa 2210 sat combined 2 800 sat 2’s instate i can pay deposit

@jrok
This is calming me a bit. To those a bit discontent of the eligibility status, I’m sure things will turn around for all of us.

ADDITIONAL RANDOM INFORMATION:
Someone I know, got accepted today (via SNAIL-MAIL) he got the green envelope, however he lives about 15 minutes away from the school. Just random input, for whoever was asking about snail-mail vs e-mail.
