Hi!
I got into Binghamton and Fordham (at Lincoln Center) for their business schools. However, I can’t choose which one to attend because both are pretty good in my current choices of college. Bing:
-I have to pay 23k (on campus) a year
-Real college experience by being on campus
-A lot of my high school students end up in Bing
Fordham (Lincoln Center):
-I have to pay 17k (off campus)
-Better business school (?)
-In NYC, so I get a shot at working internships during the school year
I also intend on transfering next year to higher tier undergraduate business schools, but I’m not sure how that will turn out. Any advice? Thanks!
If both are affordable ask yourself these questions:
What do you want to study? Fordham LC has limited options in the business program so be sure it would meet your needs if you decide to stay for 4 years.
Do you want to stay on campus? If so, Binghamton is the better option if you didn’t get/can’t afford housing at LC.
(For full disclosure my S went to Fordham - Gabelli at RH and loved it)
Unsolicited advice --In general I think it is a terrible idea to start one college with the intent of transferring out. This will stand in the way of your making meaningful friendships, developing relationships with professors, and getting involved on campus. Then if your transfer doesn’t work out as planned you will be really stuck. I’d go to the college you enrolled in with the intent of staying all four years. It is fine to throw in a couple of transfer applications but don’t count on it working out.
