Bio M Subject Test

Yo
I’m taking the Bio M subject test soon. I bought the Barron’s book and started looking at some questions. I also took AP Biology last year and got a 3 on the exam.

Haven’t done a full practice test but I don’t feel that confident about the content.

Are there any additional free resources that will help me get a 750+ score on the exam?

Hey there,

I actually happened to prepare for the SAT Biology M test just a month ago, and I also religiously used the Barron’s book. I just want to tell you first that if you don’t feel confident because of that book specifically, that’s because the questions in those practice tests are MUCH harder than the real one (in my opinion), which I think is good because it really gives you a good chance to prepare. I’d also like to point out that a 3 in AP Biology isn’t bad, and I think that gives you a good advantage.

Here are some other resources I used:
http://www.■■■■■■■■■■■■/sat2/biology/ - there are a ton of practice questions here. (by the way since they censor this for some reason it’s cr*ck sat .net except replace the * with an “a”)
https://sites.google.com/site/biologysat2/home/diagnostic-tests - here are some on paper tests, and there are 4 of them with answer keys
https://subjecttestspractice.collegeboard.org/practice/sat-subject-test-preparation-biology-em?practiceTestSectionIDKey=Subject.BIOLOGY_M&header=Biology%20M - and here is the official practice online from The College Board themselves.

Those resources should keep you going, and I believe I did fairly well on the actual exam (even though the scores haven’t come out yet). I would also like to mention that even if you’re take Bio-M that you can also try some of the Ecology portions as well, since you’re not completely exempt from ecology in the exam.

Good luck!

Now that scores are out just wondering what you received after using these resources

I also used the Barron’s book to study for the June test (though I also took AP Bio this year). I advise lightly studying the topics of AP Bio like processes such as photosynthesis and cellular respiration. Go more in depth in stuff not covered in AP Bio like physiology and animal/plant anatomy using the book. This was my strategy and I scored a 780. Tbh most of the test was pretty easy to rationalize as long as I knew the basics. Good luck!

im in 9th and i literally only took honors bio, took 2 practice tests, and used some things my teacher gave us and i got a 740

Sorry for the late reply, but with those resources I scored an 800.
Keep in mind that I mainly used those sources to study, as most schools in regular bio courses do not teach all topics on the exam.

do you happen to rmbr how much stuff there was about the animal phylas?

On mine there was a matching section with it that was 5 questions, and that was it

I used the Kaplan SAT Subject Test Biology book and got an 800. If you get a workbook and rigorously study it, you should be perfectly fine.
