I was just wondering, are there more biochemistry transfers or physiology transfers to UCLA? I'm interested in both majors, but don't know which to select. Which major is easier to get into? Anyone applying this fall with those majors? Please post your stats..thanks

some help, anyone?

I got into UCLA as a biochem with a 3.63, if that helps! I don't know about physiological science, . . . apply to whichever u think is less popular.

hey meowmeow, were you part of TAP, because i'm not and I have a 3.695, so i'm kinda worry...can you post your stats thanks

No, I went to Moorpark College, not part of TAP. With your GPA I think you have a good shot, either as biochem or physiological science.
The most helpful thing that I did before I got accepted was talk to an admissions counseler from UCLA. They'll tell you which classes you really need to take before transfering (it can differ from what they say on the website!) I'd be glad to answer any other questions u have about transferring.

did you complete all your major prep course prior transfering..becuz i don't think i'll be able to finish up my physics course..other than that, I think i'll be done wit everything...I'm just hoping that physics will not hold me back...thanks again..meowmeow

i don't think that there are a lot of people majoring in biochemistry, is there?...mostly just general biology for life science majors...aanyone have stats..plz post..

I know that you most importantly must complete whatever the biology sequence is at ur school. When I talked to a UC advisor, she said "if you don't have the biology done, don't bother applying". Physics they don't care about, or organic chem. Those you can take after you transfer (which is what I did). Most important is of course complete general courses, biology (usually two semesters), and inorganice chemistry. Having calculus or physics done already doesn't hurt.

thank god, i'll be done with everything except physics...I took only one course in physics..thanks again meowmeow

I originally wanted to be a Physio major at UCLA, but after talking with one of their transfer advisors I found out that you aren't even eligable for the Physio major unless you've taken 1st semester O Chem, and they really prefer that you have both semesters done. Seeing as I'll just be finishing 2nd semester Gen Chem this spring, I'm applying as a MicroBio major, which appeals to me just as much as physiology anyway. Oh, and the advisor told me to not worry about physics until after I transfer.

wow ur advisors are really good, i went to one they told me i must do physics and even biochemitry. I am applying as chem major.

that's because you're doing chem major...biochemistry is a totally different major..

Well i am doing more math, multivariable and difr. equation and gona have O-chem done. One semester of bio and Physics too.

I am applying as a General Chemistry major different from just chemistry.

Can't find the time to do more physics and bio, and can't handel doing more classes at a time. Afraid i'll screw up if i do too mcuh at the same time. Oh well.
