Biology or Chemistry?

Which is better to take in 9th grade? I got the option to choose, but wasn't sure which one would be better.

I think I benefited from taking chemistry first. Biology is based on chemistry, so it makes more sense to take chem first. That usually isn’t how it’s done, though.

Which one is easier?

Biology is easier.

I took biology in ninth and chemistry in tenth. Though it might be better to take chemistry first, I had no problems. An introductory biology class does not involve much chemistry (but AP Bio would be different). I personally enjoyed chemistry more. Biology is a lot of memorization.

Bio is easier but chem is more useful

Chem is easier! Well for me. I got a low B in Bio but a high A in Chem

It really doesn’t matter which one you take first. In my school, biology is taken first. You don’t use chemistry in a regular biology course. Will it help you wrap your head around things better? Yes. I did fine in my biology course without knowing anything about chemistry.

I’d say get Chemistry out of the way because it sucks butt. You’ll thank yourself in 10th grade.

Take whichever one your friends are taking. You’ll have to take both eventually.

I took Biology before Chemistry and got an A in the class. Doesn’t matter really.

Biology is definitely easier, but it doesn’t matter which one you take first.

Biology first so you have a safety incase you’re a lazy bum :^)

Standard order is bio then chem. chem sucks btw

I took bio 10th grade and now I’m taking chemistry online over the summer

Biology, especially since it’s pretty easy.

Biology, but Chem is more easier and fun for me.

I hate both.

However, I hated the Chemistry in Biology, so I’d recommend Biology.

The class can be fun if you ignore the tedious parts, you have a great teacher and you enjoy learning new concepts. Couple the class with Campbell and Reece 7th Edition, which is the AP Textbook, but easy enough to read and will give you the needed information

At honors level, they are not that different in difficulty level. At my school, there occasionally is a freshmen that skips Biology honors and goes straight to AP. They then do Chemistry honors the next year, and then take AP Chemistry the year after. Some take Chemistry online over the summer, then do AP Chemistry when they return.
