Okay, so I have $500 worth of deferment, but none of my needed books are available used from the bookstore. What do I do if I want to buy them from somewhere off-campus? Is there somewhere off-campus that's more likely to have used books?

The bookstores off campus have textbook deferment as well. Basically, you give them a check or leave a credit card number and they wont cash in the check or charge your credit card until financial aid is disbursed.

All off campus bookstores usually have used books, its a matter of shopping around. You could also buy your stuff online (half.com) and use your own money and then wait for your financial aid.

Off campus bookstores are:
Florida Bookstore - [url=http://www.flbookstore.com]Welcome | Florida Book Store/url

Orange and Blue Textbooks (OBT) - [url=http://www.obtbooks.com]Orange and Blue Textbooks/url

Gator Textbooks (couldnt find the website, this one is a bit further from the first two)

Is it hard to cancel my deferment with the UF Bookstore? I also don't have direct deposit because I don't want them drawing some obscure debt from my bank account without me knowing.

If you haven't ordered anything from the UF bookstore, I don't think you have to cancel anything. They were just letting you know that should you choose to use it, you could spend up to $500 and not have to pay until your Financial Aid is disbursed.

Okay, that makes sense.

Also, how important is matching the ISBN numbers?
