Bookbag/Purse

Okay so I need to go shopping for a purse of some sort. I dont feel like bringing my L.L Bean Bookbag, because its lime green. And I'm trying to figure out what's a good purse or bag to hold stuff in (perferably a big bag...since I have 3 classes really close to each other) Thanks :)

Well, I have a large cloth carryall I bought from a Tibetan store in NYC. it's shaped much differently than a normal tote...it's a U-shape with one heavy strap, in the same fabric as the bag. I like it a lot, because I can put everything from my wallet to my cell phone to a binder in it. I'll hunt google and see if I can't find you a pic.

ETA: Found a pic. It's not exactly what I had in mind, but it's the closest I can get. This bag is much larger than it appears, and has no shape on its own.

ebags.com has an awesome selection of every type of bag imaginable for very reasonable prices, so I would suggest you do a search there for the "perfect" bag. Most bags of 10% off and shipping is free for orders $25 and over until July 31, so jump on the promotion while you still can!

I just ordered this bag: <a href="http://www.ebags.com/the_north_face/star_quilted_tote/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=55328%5B/url%5D">http://www.ebags.com/the_north_face/star_quilted_tote/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=55328</a></p>

i have an amazing bag by a british company called mulberry. the bag is called the mulberry roxanne, and you don't look quite so much like a college kid when you're toting it. It's definetly expensive, I got mine second hand a store in NYC (Ina Soho) for a fraction of the price and you can always try ebay. I highly recommend. Everyone and their cousin, almost no matter where you go, will be carrying longchamps, LLBeans, vera bradleys and vineyard vines. i love this because it's different.

mulberry.com

the nylon longchamps totes are huge on my campus, but $$ for a bookbag. I had a very bradley tote and I loved that one. Mine is the blue and brown pattern. Otherwise, a good durable LL Bean tote (they're now available in custom color combinations) will do the trick.

I'm a hunt for the best backpack. I've never had one I'm happy with. Then again my backpacks go where no backpack should...checked on flights, beach, snow, thrown around at a skatepark...it's basically like my third arm. What happens is they're always hard to get all the sand out of, and never have enough compartments/straps for all the crap I have. And the zippers break all the time. Oh well.

Do You Go To Uvm?

i bought a cute bag from loop NYC

here it is <a href="http://www.shoplooponline.com/browse.cfm/4,677.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.shoplooponline.com/browse.cfm/4,677.htm</a></p>

it is super cute and really big

Hey, this is probably a stupid question, but this thread made me think of it. Do people usually take their books to class? I can't imagine why they would, but I don't know. So what do you end up taking to class then?

I occasionally needed my physics book for recitations where we did practice problems. Mostly I just took my laptop, a notebook, and some pencils/pens.

For Shagnov-

Were you asking if I go to UVM? (the answer is yes)

sarah, thanks for that link.. that bag is adorable! Do you have one?

yeah i do, i really like it, and it is plenty big, much bigger than a traditional tote

lauren-- what year are you? do you like it? I'm transferring out and I have several friends who are too, but some of my friends absolutely love it. What were your thoughts?

but it's not too huge right? Do you have any trouble using it on an everyday basis?

i actually just bought it and am not going to begin using it till i get to school. it is definently not purse size, but it can handle my 15.4" laptop some spirals calculator, planner, pens, a water bottle, and a book. the great thing is that although you can't see them in the picture it has these snaps on the sides that keep the shape together better if you have very little in it.

nooooo it's sold out! sarah is there any other place i can get that bag? i must get that bag!

haha i would agree that bag was super cute and today i saw the cutest bag at strawbridges but it doesnt seem big enuff :(

I just bought a Crumpler laptop satchel (<a href="http://www.crumplerbags.com%5B/url%5D">www.crumplerbags.com</a>), we'll see how it is when it gets here, but yeah ebags.com is crazy, especially with the coupons you can find (just search google for ebags coupon)

But I'm a guy, so its a bag, not a purse, ya hear?

arrrrfggggggg! I just went to go order that bag, and it's GONE!!!! I can't find it on zappos either. poop.
