Books and Chocolate

Realizing that I didn't have much to do until March 10 except read, eat chocolate and post on CC, I decided to ask for suggestions. So here it is:

Basically, I want you guys to talk about your favorite books and candy.

And since I'm opening the thread, I'll start:

*One of my favorite books is Margaret Mitchell's Gone With The Wind. Her portrayal of the South during the Civil War period makes you feel as though you really lived there. The characters grow in many ways as you get further in the book. I can't decide whether my favorite character is Melanie or Rhett. Read it--you'll never regret making that decision.

And now for chocolate...My favorite chocolate bar would have to be KitKat. I love the flavor of the milky chocolate over the crispy wafers...mmmm.

Anyways, please post. I love hearing about books and chocolate.

(*Gone With The Wind is only one of my favorites. I'll post about the rest if there are more posts on this thread.)

:)

Hey Padfoot, I really love John Grisham's books. I have read 13 and the only one I didn't like was The Testament. Also I just love To Kill A Mockingbird!!!!

Hershey's Cookies n' Cream all da way~ :D

Yes!! I agree LLL :D

Great Expectations by some guy named Dickens.

Kit Kat. Great for breakfast.

One of my favorite books is For One More Day by Mitch Albom, it was really interesting and a bit sad too =] It's about a guy trying to commit suicide, but he somehow meets his dead mother, and spends the day with her, talking about things that he regrets and learning about his past.

My favorite chocolates are Hershey kisses hahah :]
Nothing with almonds, just regular milk chocolate.

Far From the Madding Crowd, Jude the Obscure or The Mayor of Casterbridge...or anything else by Thomas Hardy. And who could pass up Tess of the D'urbervilles?

The French Lieutenant's Woman
Wuthering Heights
The Grapes of Wrath

Lindt milk chocolate truffles!

Books:

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini (It's better than A Thousand Splendid Suns) and My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

Chocolate:

Guylian Belgian Chocolates (anyone tried these?)
Ferrero
Hersheys
M&Ms
Godiva
Truffles
...

I love chocolates!! I swear, if I'm going to die early, it's probably due to diabetes. But hopefully, I won't die early :|

Books:
1984 by George Orwell
Swimming Lessons by Rohinton Mistry

Chocolates:
most treats that involve belgian chocolate

Thanks for all the replies, guys! :D

fun is fun: I started reading Great Expectations, but I was never able to finish. I really enjoyed A Tale of Two Cities, which is also by Charles Dickens.

baseballmom: I agree with you about Wuthering Heights. That's one of the best books that I've ever read. Lindt chocolates are irresistable, too! :D

LLL, crosscountry: Hershey's Cookies 'n' Cream rox! :)

hank: I really enjoyed reading To Kill a Mockingbird when I read it last year. :)

cate: That's the death that I predicted for myself, too! :D

:D :D :D

Anyways...anything by Jane Austen is worth reading. (Remember Pride and Prejudice?)
Emma, Mansfield Park, and Pride and Prejudice are probably my favorites.

Crunch is another great chocolate bar.

:D :D :D

Thanks again for posting, y'all!

Book: The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. AHH! Edward Cullen gave me unrealistic expectations about men. I swear, read it. It's the best.
And Harry Potter, of course, is pretty darn spectacular, as well.

Candy: Chocolate covered cookie dough. No words to describe...or to many?

I agree with everything you just posted, crickett. I've read all the books you mentioned and my best friend introduced me to chocolate covered cookie dough. Harry Potter 3 & 7 are my favorites. :) I also really liked Eclipse.
