Books

can we just walk in to the bookstore and buy our books or do we have to reserve them online first?

yes you can walk in and purchase them. It is downstairs in case you haven’t been there before.

Well the reservation period from ordering online had past, but like tatertot said, you can drive to UCI campus and buy your books at the bookstore.

Are they open on move in weekend?

yep. from the bookstore site: ‘Move-in and then come in! The UCI Bookstore will be OPEN for extended hours on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20!’

If I’m taking Calculus 2B,D,E,J do I order the full text version? Also, its our choice to get e-book or text right? For EECS 10 should I get the optional C Programming Language book too?

Are there any differences between international books and actual books? Cause the international version of the chem 1a book is much cheaper.

math 2j is linear algebra, if your taking 3a then you need the full text , if not just the partial one will suffice. Oh and it also covers infinite series (a topic in integral calc) so you will need to buy the partial notes.

Wait isn’t linear algebra basic stuff? o_O I’m going to take 3D, not 3A though. Do I still buy the full text?

well algebra never ends nor does math for that matter.

and yes buy the full text.

ok so i went there yesterday and they were all sold out of access cards for writing 39B. the guy at the counter told me to order it online from the mcgraw-hill site…so yea can anyone confirm if this is the right one?

[Brief McGraw-Hill Handbook MLA Update w/ Connect Composition Access Card](http://www.mhprofessional.com/product.php?search_crawl=true&isbn=0077369459)

Alright cool, thanks Art.

Wait are you talking about the linear algebra text?!

if your only taking 2j you only need the partial one. !!

However if you need to take calculus 2d buy the full text!

3d is differential equations. !

How come the price for the access card was raised? I reserved it for around $12.00 used.

Does that mean, when I go to pick it up, the price for the access card for 39b will be at $37.50?

CAlculus 2d = full calculus book, not linear algebra book.

@ tama21: In case Art’s responses were confusing, you need to buy the full calculus text because you’re taking Math 2B,D,E. For Math 2J and 3D, you will need different and separate textbooks. Worry about those later when you have to take those classes.
